Re: Safe Work Practice
Had some bad news a few days ago and hearing it made me think of this post. A Thai relative working construction fell from bamboo scaffolding 7 stories high. no safety equipment or PPE as could be expected, on the way down he smacked his head on something and tore off his left ear (ouch that will le...

I reported to the front office on Wir...

Re: Transferring visa to new passport
Been in touch with UK Embassy in BKK, they can provide a letter to support the transfer to the new passport, only issue is I have to sacrifice the old passport which is neither full nor due to expire. Just means I will have one passport until I apply for another and will have to go to BKK, not the e...

Transferring visa to new passport
I hope someone can help with a passport issue I have. I presently have two valid UK passports, both different numbers, one expires 2018 which has my Thai visa in it, it does not have two blank pages. My second UK passport expires 2024, this was issued in Kabul, Afghanistan and I only used it for ent...

Re: Visa agents for Thai nationals travelling abroad
True the inoculation requirements are based on where you travel from. My only recommendation is to inquire with the Indian authorities, don't rely on WHO. You will be issued with the visa even if you do not have the correct inoculations, the problem arises when you get to India and passport control....

Re: Visa agents for Thai nationals travelling abroad
For India check the Indian government web site for inoculation requirements, they have recently changed to include Yellow Fever and Polio, this applies to all nationalities

Re: Thai News is What it Says on the Tin
Thais totally live in their own bubble and in some ways who can blame them. My wife saw about Syria on TV and asked what was going on, I explained and also showed her where Syria is, she said "oh long way not my problem". She has never looked or asked about Syria again

Why not contact the embassy of the countries you want to visit, or even their web sites may give the information.

Re: This Is How You Could Live in Thailand on $1,000 a Month
Of course if you buy your home, car, pay medical insurance for the next 20 years and so on you can then possibly live on 32k Baht a month, but that was not the jist of the article, which talked about an ALL IN cost of 32k Baht. whichever way I do not believe many western expats would like to come he...

Then it is crap as the article included property rental costs in the $1000 and most of your other comments go against the statements in the article

Re: This Is How You Could Live in Thailand on $1,000 a Month
Another bull s^#t article about how one can manage on a pittance. Of course you can live on $1k if you want to live like a poor Thai, in one room with little or no furniture and eat from street carts every day. A three-bedroom apartment in an outlying neighborhood is about $700 per month, an accepta...
