Darwinian, thank you for the information, where exactly is Medsai located? The last one I tried was the second on the left as you head into that complex before the harbour. I don’t know the name of it but it was very good; the best chilli crab I’ve eaten for a long while.

Tasteless, overpriced fish and chips with Karaoke! All you need now is a group of bleach-blonde adolescent girls falling over on happy hour Bacardi Breezers and you have recreated the true British pub experience; I’ll have to give it a try sometime.

That tuk-tuk shown in the photo is one of those Bajaj things from India. I can understand why they might ban them; I used to use them in Jakarta and they’re unstable as hell. In fact I knocked one over myself one night with a Toyota truck after he U-turned in front of me. Fortunately it didn’t d...

Dieter, I've never tried it myself, but it's been posted on here before that you can pay for an extra seat for luggage.

Thank you for the information on the bar scene anyway Jockey; I’ll give those beach bars a try sometime.
I’m always looking for good sea-food restaurants and have tried a couple near the harbour there, do you have any advice on that front?

I’d consider Bang Saphan when I finally get around to retiring, but at the moment it’s too far from an international airport for the long range commuter lifestyle.

Ralph, I haven’t got a clue about your Thai problem, but last year I was just on the verge of getting my credit card out to pay for a Mio GPS in Luxembourg when the sales assistant asked me, in his perfect English, if I spoke French. At this point I rapidly discovered that this wasn’t the ideal ...

Actually I go over to Cha Am quite often during the day as our house is near Hua Hin hospital, it’s actually often quicker to drive to Cha Am to visit a restaurant or a beach than it is to penetrate the traffic to get to Hua Hin or further south. I prefer living in Hua Hin because I admit that I l...

Jockey, I was over in Cha Am last month for lunch at the sea-food restaurants by the fishing harbour there. (Excellent chilli crabs.) Afterwards while walking past the harbour and back down the beach to where we had parked, I noticed a couple of beach-bar type places along that first stretch that I ...

Understudy; thanks for the information, but Randy will understand the Zulu Warrior that I'm referring to, perhaps along with a few other ex-British forces readers out there.

Yes, and don’t worry about my comment; I’ve had one vote total out of two entries so far, and this time around I didn’t have time to work out the re-sizing bit that I have to re-learn every month!

With a bit of thought and guessing the power of Honda Wave lights, I think you would be using less than 0.5% percent of power output at full revs.
What ever the figure, it's clear that it wouldn't be an amount worth risking your life for!
