Re: Hua Hin Bluport Mall news, events and updates

Okay, my other half works for the The Mall Group (but not often at Bluport), but she will try to find out what's happening.

Re: Hua Hin Bluport Mall news, events and updates

On another note, it appears Bluport is in trouble. A lot of empty space there now. I'm not a regular visitor to Bluport, but I go there occasionally. Last night was the first time ever that I've seen the store busy with shoppers, as opposed to rubberneckers. We had to buy milk on the way home, and ...

Re: Hua Hin Bluport Mall news, events and updates

The barrier was on the road just as I approached the Northern side of the shopping mall. I too thought I would carry on to the Southern side. As I said, there were also barriers blocking routes through the car parks as well. It felt like a huge wind up, but of course, it wasn't. I'm sure it's still...

Re: Hua Hin Bluport Mall news, events and updates

BB, where exactly was the barrier? I often take that route to avoid u-turns and the like and I follow the road to the main entrance of the car park that takes you in at ground floor level the same as if entering via Petchkasem. I can't see how they can block a municipal road with a barrier?

Re: Naebkahart Road Restaurant???

There are lot of Tae Chiews in Bangkok. If you mean those from the Chaoshan region, that's where my other half's' family originate from. But she say's the Thai Chinese are from all over China. Hell of a coincidence, as we were just discussing this earlier and my reference to Bangkok was down to the...

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

For Gods Sake Caller the Key Visa service is excellent why knock it? Didn't know I was knocking it. I was just asking what I regard as a pertinent question. They don't mention this at all on their website. And if I am to let them handle my passports I would want to know what measures they have in p...

LOL - but nothing changes :)
But why would it if I am the only one that bothers? They are not Police officers as every Thai and most expats know and can be ignored at will in any case.

Re: Naebkahart Road Restaurant???

I am told by my other half that it has a Chinese name, not Thai and Wenshidi is there or thereabouts as my other half came up with 'Jek Bier' but that second word is long with a rising tonal accent.

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

I'm sure Key Visa provide an excellent service, but what guarantees do they give about securing the integrity of your passport? Thailand does, after all, have a reputation as a centre for passport and identity fraud.

Re: Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

Could it be because the defacto police officers don't understand traffic lights and wave traffic through when the lights are red? I wasn't referring to their effectiveness or otherwise, just the fact they are there because the company realises there are issues and basically cannot call on the Polic...

Re: Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

I asked my other half about the lights at Bluport and as known really, they were provided by the company for the convenience of their customers. The facility is then handed to the local municipality to run on an ongoing basis. However, if problems arise, they may then ask the company to pay to fix t...

Re: Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

I might try and find out from my other half who works for The Mall group, although not at Bluport, but I believe that the lights and those at Bangkok Hospital have been provided by the companies themselves and as such it's possible they are not even formally recognised by the Police here. Seems craz...
