Re: Birds of Thailand

Not the best shots of a Himalayan Swiftlet (Indochinese) in motion, on a crappy day, as had camera settings for stationary subject. Buzzed by a bit unexpected. https://i.postimg.cc/XqMSP1Vr/DSC08368.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/cLDqWLxy/DSC08380.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/zGDm4g1F/DSC08386.jpg

Re: 3BB Internet

Hers is actually AIS, and it sucks, as does DTAC at times. I hate AIS, as when having, always a billing conflict, thieving bastards. Thai internet servers are in a word....terrible. Though TBH, have nothing to compare them to, as last USA server I used, 20 years ago, was ok, actually better and chea...

Re: 3BB Internet

For me, I think it's the cheapest monthly plan, year contract with TOT, and all of 631 baht a month. That's cabled into the house with wifi router use to all devices. We don't do TV, though I run laptop to the TV as a monitor. So can't comment on any streaming or cable TV services. YouTube the only ...

Re: 3BB Internet

They may have touted it quite a bit, as I just don't pay attention to those type of things. 3BB flyer on the gate, so wife asked. 100 megs was fine for me, and really don't notice the difference on the phone, which I rarely use anyway, as annoying trying to read and type on small devices. 50 megs on...

Re: 3BB Internet

Don't know about or use 3BB, but saw a local advert (1G up/down @ 750 baht month), so figured I'd ask our server (TOT) for any new competitive promotion, thinking 3BB just uses their cables / system, with a mark up anyway. Sure enough, they offered an upgrade in service plan, presently 100 up / down...

No need to look pass the first link....if so, then spend on a 2nd house, which would supplement paying for .... again, something from the 1st link, which, I don't need or want ... :o

Re: Thailand Air Pollution Alerts

I've been here ten years now and the air quality is most definitely getting worse not only in the town but outside also you can smell the smoke of a night people slash and burning. Agree, and we're not imagining things, as sometimes my meter skyrockets at night. Nose & meter agree...... :twiste...

Re: Thailand Air Pollution Alerts

Definitely in denial there Hahuahin. Drove through HH area twice the past couple weeks, and could barely see the hills. Also how I can tell what my meter will state, before even turning on, by simply looking, hopefully seeing the hill clearly in the bay from the balcony with morning coffee. Can easi...

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

As much as I don't like the ban myself.....consumer rights......seriously...555 As if there wasn't 6 months of warning the ban would be put into place this week. As all things, last minute shopping, costs more. I have so many 'free' none plastic bags, and glad I'm a pack rat. Bought a couple large o...

Re: Tips for recycling and reducing plastic use in Thailand

If gov't & people disposed of them properly, there wouldn't be a problem. Plastic is and never was a problem. The only thing that changed, for myself and millions others that live here is, I now have to buy bin liners. On the grand scale of things, more trees will need to be cut down, that can't...

Re: Tom's travels - Hua Hin after dark

Nothing to apologize for, and I thought the 'banana' comments were on point, and funny. OT ... sort of .... smoking IS supposed to be banned in all restaurants, AC'd / enclosed, and open aired. Seems to only be enforced, and randomly at that, at AC'd / enclosed venues. I'm in the 'deters customers' ...

Re: Thailand Air Pollution Alerts

airvisual is very good source, and fairly accurate, as the local station (PKK / municipality) and my meter agree most times. So that's my best reference point for other locations in Thailand. And while out & about, again, pretty close readings to each. I wouldn't trust the Gov't run sites, as Ri...
