Re: Electric Cars

Yes, the charging station is at the PEA office. I made a video about it here:

Re: Electric Cars

A car has been spotted in town with a sign "Hua Hin EV Charging Station". I suspect the charger is at the PEA office, I'll check it out soon, but if anybody spots the car, please ask the driver where the charger is and post back here. Thanks!

Re: El Toro Loco bar closed?

I saw Cartoon outside the new Soi 94 site last week, he said the contractor doing the work told him they need between 1 and 2 more weeks to complete, so looking like July 28 to August 4.

Re: Tessaban Hua Hin

I just got my Pink card at the Tessaban on Monday. I handed them my passport, blue book and yellow book but they only wanted my yellow book. They took a picture and both thumb prints and handed me the card after about 30 minutes total. Cost was 60 baht. I found them very friendly and helpful.

As a side note, Alonso retired from the Indianapolis 500 with just a few laps to go due to Honda engine failure. Honda should simply get out of the racing game. No racing engine they've produced is reliable. :cuss: Alonso was in the lead shortly, and I think 7th when he retired. Pete  http:...

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

I was at the grand opening event on Tuesday May 9. Lots of officials and pictures and flowers and speeches in Thai. They did say however, several times in English that they will do 4 services: 1) "Visa Extension" which we all know is really Extension of Stay 2) Re-Entry Permit 3) 90 Day Re...

Re: Smartphone App for Hua Hin Immigration

You scan their QR barcode with a QR scanner app or the one built into Line and it gives you your queue number. I tested a scan at the grand opening event but didn't follow through to see how the whole process works.

Re: Hua Hin Chocolate Factory?

I've been there twice now. Full menu with Thai and Western food, high quality but as others have said a little pricy. I had a chocolate dessert the first time, delicious. I somehow managed to escape the second time without dessert. I'll definitely go back.

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

A while back there was a sign in English on the white plywood in front of the upcoming Immigration office in BluPort. I checked again last week and the sign was gone, white plywood still up and no sing of any construction progress. So, I wonder if this will actually happen.

Re: Thai electric car

I converted a Porsche 914 to full electric drive but it sits in storage back home until they drop the tax on importing electrics, if it ever happens. I don't want to sell it but I can't wait forever for the government to understand the value of cheap electric cars here.

Read it with Opera browser. You can set VPN mode there. Works excellent
I agree, the built-in VPN in the Opera browser is easy and much faster than the VPN service I used to pay for.

Re: 2016 F1 News and Prediction Tournament

Lindosfan had the best race with 24.5 points, and a new record for highest points for a race this season. Our final standings are RZR, Parahandy and MWBrown, with Pitsch tied for third with 320 points, but the place going to MWBrown based upon type of points achieved. Special mention to Parahandy f...

Re: Hua Hin Bluport Mall news and updates

I didn't see a doors-open time for opening day so I messaged them on their Facebook page. They told me the opening hours are 10 AM to 10 PM.
