Transliterating Thai can be a bit problematic as there are not enough alphabets in English to discribe all Thai sounds. I would spell that 'kraphau' or 'krapau' with the au pronounced as the u in "soon" but shorter.

Can't think of any bar which would have that many girls available. That's probably the biggest problem.

I was also talking from my own experience. During the four years I've been visiting Veranda, I've had no problems whatsoever. So there's no reason for me not to recommend it.

Not really beach bars in the sense that you guys are talking but there are two nice spots where I occasinally go for a frosty. 1. The place next to the Chinese temple near Hilton. Very nice views and very relaxing and with big bottle of Chang costing 70 baht it's hard to beat. The only problem is th...

Unfortunately flying from Hua Hin to anywhere in the world is limited to kite boarding at the moment. Well, there is one charter flight to/from BKK but that's about it. Best way to make the trip between the Som Tam City and the Fishing Village is by flying to Bangkok and then proceeding your journey...

There's a cluster of guest houses about 1 km south from town. This area is near were people go kiteboarding.
For example Leng GH, Doodie GH, A&B GH. Around 800-1000 baht per night, I think.

At 24 I was still in the university studying for my M.Ed. After finishing my studies at 26 I came to Asia (China) for the first time and life was never the same. I went back to Finland for a year and taught in primary school. Then back to China and other countries in Asia. Again back to Finland as I...

Good to hear you had a good trip. When you have more time, you might tell us a little bit more of what you did and saw.

If you drive to Pranburi (or most other places) do it during the daytime. Actually, you only have to do the stretch between Khao Takiab and Khao Tao on the main road. If you turn to left around the km marker 13, you can take a small and quiet by-road which will take you past Haat Sai Noi and Milford...

If you come to Hua Hin, maybe we can all sit together over this topic. I have two daughters and might be interested in international school education for them. I'm also an educator, with M.Ed although I haven't taught for years.

Every Thursday, starting at 9 p.m. there's a Nordic Ballroom dance night at Grand Sport, in front of the Grand Hotel. Mainly Finnish and Swedish people attend it at the moment but everybody is welcome. You can take your own music there as well, if there's a special kind of dance you like to do.
