Churchill

Winston Churchill was notorious for his dislike of Lady Astor and she felt the same way about him. Two examples. Lady Astor, to Churchill “Sir, if I was your wife, I would put poison in your tea” Churchill replied, “madam if I was your husband I would drink it” -------------------------------------...

Ironic indeed Randy, when what put him in the wooden box, came out of small cardboard boxes. Burgers and the like.

First record.

Ebony Eyes by the Everly Brothers No 1 in UK 1961  Technically, I didn't buy this record but did contribute to the cost from my pocket money. Well I was only 9 and my 3 older sisters wanted the record. I was pissed when they were knocked off the number 1 spot after 3 weeks by someone called E...

Re: food

Unfortunately, due to my constitution I cannot tolerate chilli even in small doses, so have to forgo that pleasure. I know what you mean. When I first came here I simply could not eat anything with chilli in. Now however, it's me rather than my wife who complains when there are none in the ho...

A few of the above points are valid and a few are not, as/am software will detect the crap that this worm will try to install so they are very necessary. There are rarely any problems with installing any of the KB patches, just don't use the auto update feature if you don't have genuine software. Y...

Thanks Takiap :D

Yes, I had considered Mozilla firefox, had a look at it but some sites don't like it, so I would have to run IE as well.

KD75, you seem to be pretty well covered there. 1. Does the Windows patch work on fake copies of XP(which most have) etc or is it a problem and let's you know you're a villain. Yes, just don't turn auto updates on if you're not using genuine Windows. 2. A good place to download it from? How easy is...

Seriously though, Uk govt employees aside, if you are using Windoze you should make sure you have the October patch, a decent firewall, and have disabled 'autorun' - this worm is a biggie, some reports are already saying one in sixteen PCs could already be infected. [ warning: unsolicited and salac...

Don, a friend who works for MOD in IT Local to me. Baht

I've just come home from work, and my wife tells me that she's been watching Abasit (sp?) on Thai (UK) TV this afternoon. She said that he is pledging to drop the value of the Baht to help out the expat community (more like re-generate Thai exports). I came straight on to HHAD to read about it, and...
