Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”
Another question pls Barry. Do you know if it is possible to open a USD bank account in Cambodia without having an address there (yet)? Also, I presume Thai debit cards will work in Cambodian ATMs? (otherwise its a bag of cash) You need at least a 6-month visa and rental contract to open a bank acc...

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”
If I was a newbie considering retirement I wouldn't hesitate to make the move there. What is the long-term visa situation like? I'm guessing its still much easier than here. Didn't dig that deep but from what I gathered from previous posts on this thread a yearly visa with no visits to Imm. Office ...

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”
Sorry for the delayed reply: The roads between the main towns are pretty good now as most of them have been built over the last 8 years or so. Kampong Cham to Stung Treng should take a bit more than 4 hours I imagine you could cross into Laos for the day, but you would then have to pay for a new tou...

Re: Cambodian tourism will be the “new Thailand”
I've been to Kratie and Stung Treng - both very interesting - there's not much going on in Kratie town, but the island (Koh Trong) in the Mekong there is worth a visit - no cars on the island, but moto taxis are available. Both Kratie and Stung Treng are home to the last 2 groups of the Mekong Irraw...

Hi, just got back to Asia after a 5 month tour of Europe with my young daughter, but we actually live in Cambodia, not Vietnam, although we're only 20 minutes from the Vietnamese border....

Apart from vinegar, pure aloe vera also works well - the stung person's own urine is also said to work, but I've never seen it put to the test.

Re: Photo Trip Report: England and Scotland
The big problem with living in the west is the price of property in anywhere vaguely nice, particularly with todays mortgage prices. This past summer, I went back to Europe to provide some adventure for my nearly 5 year-old daughter Róisín and have my first look around there for 23 years. It was a ...

Just spent 2 months in the south of Spain. Not a drop of rain and very reasonable cost of living.

Re: What are you feeding your Dogs?
Since one of ours was diagnosed as diabetic, we started buying the special tins, but because of stupid cost, we mainly do our own thing these days. Chicken breast cooked with cabbage and carrots. The 3 of them loved it, and the remaining 2 still go absolutely crazy at feeding time. They can't get e...

Re: The Digital Surgery (computer questions/problems here)
I have an online subscription for Office 365 and have upgraded to family so I can also use it on my mobile system. However, after installing on my laptop I´m being asked for the product key - does anyone know where to find it please?

Re: British tv channels
It really all depends on whether you want all the sports channels.
If you're happy with just the free-to air range of channels, I've found TV Mucho to be the best option. Legal, reliable and low subscription.
