Re: Enjoy Samui

Things like this happen in Liverpool, Birmingham, Paris, Dortmund, Amsterdam and any European city of your choice every weekend. Alcohol, drugs and testosterone. Certainly not a Koh Samui thing.

Re: Tourists murdered on Koh Tao

Very simple solution indeed. Too simple, as people exposed to torture tend to confess to anything you want them to. Therefore an unreliable method of information gathering. Also unethical by the way.

Re: Brit found dead at 'The Beach' after pursuing dream

It has been reported in local media here in Phuket by people who personally knew him that he indeed worked illegally as a bartender on Phi Phi and that he currently was having relationship problems with his Thai boyfriend. Yes, boyfriend. Whatever he was going through he made a drastic and sad decis...

Re: The Digital Surgery

I have a problem with one (and only this one) website. Not displaying correctly, throwing me out when I try to click a link, sometimes not accessible at all. It uses a lot of Java. Of course I googled the problem and found 1001 possible causes and 50,000 possible solutions. Tried a few, nothing help...

Re: Why do farang buy bars?

I don't think that there are many who buy a bar knowing that it is going to cost them money. They all think it is going to make money. Some believe the old owner's (the seller!) success stories, some listen to the GF's advice who suddenly seems to be an expert because of her years long experience in...

Re: The Thailand Photo Thread

A temple in northern Thailand, I believe it is near Chiang Rai area. the big statue will be very impressive when it is completed. It seems that all the statues inside of the temple are carved from wood. Sorry that I don't remember its name. Stargeezer Wow, as Gerard said Wat Huay Pla Kang. Only 3-4...

Re: IKTS 2014/2015

There is no option to enter the code but instead I clicked the 'Apply'-button. Buksida, I assume you must accept the application now. Think I remember that was also the procedure last year. Please advise.

Re: Farmers happy as rice payments begin.

Same old story. The only ones benefiting from the indirect vote buying rice pledging scheme are luxury car dealers, jewelers, gold shops and real estate agents who delivered to the corrupt. I would not be surprised if the politicians use this big hoax one more time in October next year to secure vot...

Re: Mini golf

From 1994 to 1996 I played there regularly. I think it was 100 Baht for a round but you could buy a membership-card for one month unlimited rounds for 500 Baht. There were around 10 to 12 expats who had these cards and who -including myself- played regularly. I remember one retired German guy (Karl)...

Re: H.H. MiB Vs H.H. tuk-tuk 'mafia'

I love the idea of a Tuk Tuk mafia... I have images of all these Tuk Tuk drivers going home, after a 5-hour day of extorting tourists, to their luxury mansions, and sitting by the pool sipping cocktails with their plentiful mia-nois Reality in Phuket. Not the ones at the bottom of the food chain bu...

Re: Presents for thai ladies

My Thai GF (45) never asks me to buy her perfume when I travel abroad, she orders me to do so. Most of the time I buy her the 'expensive' tax free stuff but once I bought her also cheap perfume from a local pharmacy that was clearing stock (additional 50% discount). I thought if she wouldn't like it...

Re: Thai lady murdered in Hin Lek Fai

I respect Big Boy's decision and I know you can see the picture elsewhere if you wish. I was merely questioning the logic behind the decision; why withholding a picture of a suspect because he is not proven guilty (yet). A little leftover of the western PC concept I guess. But then Big Boy already s...
