*Sold* Dell 23" Full HD (1080p) Computer Monitor *Sold*

Selling because even if it was free, I can't think of a single good reason to bring it as checked baggage. Bought this model because its technology is good for accurate colors. Plus it rotates 90 degrees, which helps when editing photos of giraffes. Works as well as it ever has. Can't see any scratc...

* SOLD * Mid Tower PC Case for ATX Motherboards & 500w Power Supply

Selling because the size of the shipping box means it's more expensive to bring it as checked baggage then to buy a replacement. Power supply was new last spring. Case is 4 years old. Some of the external plastic is scratched. By the power button are 3 USB ports, 1 microphone, 1 earbud. The ports ar...

FREE Two micro four thirds Olympus lenses

Free because the only used market for micro four thirds camera lenses in Thailand is for the highest quality ones. These ain't those. They're moderate speed, moderate quality lenses. Bought them as part of a kit, replaced them with better lenses soon after. If you have an Olympus or Panasonic interc...

Are medicine expiration dates meaningful?

Not always. Analysis of a cache of decades-old prescription medications discovered in a retail pharmacy has revealed that the potency of most of their ingredients was undiminished even though their expiration dates had passed years earlier. The researchers worked with samples of 8 medications that h...

Re: Movies on DVD

Bad Times at the El Royale Truth in titling. It all happens at the El Royale hotel. Much of it is bad. Calling it a violent drama / mystery sort of describes it. Comparing a film, director or screenplay to something by Quentin Tarantino is usually about how the wanna-be missed the mark. Not so in t...

Re: Best of the Rest of the World

A letter from John Phillips of the Yale University School of Medicine to the New England Journal of Medicine, Feb. 14, 1991: When referring to the hand, the names digitus pollicis, indicis, medius, annularis, and minimus specify the five fingers. In situations of clinical relevance the use of such n...

Recent thread on reasons for leaving Hua Hin or Thailand?

I recall a thread from sometime in the last year. It ran about 10 pages (but with my memory, who knows how many) about leaving Hua Hin. Searching for it has failed. Anybody remember the thread or what sub-forum it was in?

Re: Second hand smart phones

Subjective experience of computer response speed is often wrong. I dont think I am the only person on the planet who has experienced a phone slowing down in operation over time as it keeps trying to "update". Your experience is subjective. Try this. Back up your phone. Reset it to the sam...

Re: Airbus to end production of costly A380 superjumbo

The shower is so much fun. Because there was room for 2? :naughty: If I ever win the lottery I will travel exclusively Emirates A380 first class. I can't praise it highly enough. With tongue mostly in cheek, but the quotes are real: The dangers of trying something luxurious is expressed in a quote ...

Re: Second hand smart phones

Another consideration is the software vendors, especially Apple, and more recently Google, purposely slow the device down to make you upgrade. This has nothing to do with the original hardware. So a used phone, trying to drag all the latest updates down, will behave like an old dog. Subjective expe...
