Re: Thai Olympic sailing team

Thanks caller - interesting. The point I was trying to make though, was were they happy with their performance? Thousands attend every Olympic Games without a cats hope in hell of achieving a medal. However, the Olympics is as much about taking part, and personal performance. I was wondering how th...

Re: True Visions HD

I'd like to understand the mechanics of "the 15 rooms off of one line..." In the past you could get as many lines as you want off of a single dish if everyone wanted to watch the same channel. My understanding now is the same, and that one dish can only run two boxes capable of being tuned...

Re: Thai Olympic sailing team

My wife plays Thai 7 almost 24/7 apart from small breaks to watch Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Eastenders. I've never noticed any sport on there ......................... but then again, I rarely look at the soaps she's watching. I'm assuming of course that you mean the channel that has a multi...

Re: Thai Olympic sailing team

Also, how is the coverage over there, print and TV? IMHO the coverage on Thai TV is awful. They only seem to be showing the more obscure sports, and I can only find the one feed. I'd have been totally lost without my Expat TV. Take a look at Thai 7 at 1800 hours. We've been watching that the last f...

We request that all flies remove their shoes before entering the house. We have a wee little sign posted to that effect. :duck:

Re: POLL: Have You Suffered Food Poisoning in Thailand?

The problem is that no matter if mild or severe, you'll dwell on it for days trying to figure out what it was, and I've never known anyone to pinpoint it exactly. I don't even think hospitals can pinpoint the culprit, but just the bacteria type. Severe twice resulting in actually passing out and doi...

I'm not a big fan of PTT so music to my ears when Shell, Caltex or other "farangs" come out with something new and hopefully superior. Pete

Re: My Banana plants - malevolent destroyers or benign herbs

.......But that bit about those 'birds of paradise' plants has got me worried now, prcscct! Got 'em everywhere... From sad experience......unless you have some kind of concrete border at least 50cm deep, they will eventually get under it and throw roots out and keep going until they finally hit som...

Re: Why Thailand???

Yeah SF, but you can jump over to Khao Yai quickly, smell the cool, crisp air filled with nature's best etc. :D It does work for us too, especially when we're all wearing sweaters at 16C., and sitting around an open fire. When we've done it though I always feel like I'm on a cattle drive rather than...

No you're not Johnny, you just got off to a bad start but you've had some good races recently. A clue though that it's a bit more than just guess work. If you read reports for a few minutes after the practice runs, you'll do better. Pete
