That also goes for E-Dork although I do agree with him that they should never have been listed as an 'International School'. That was not only incorrect but smacks of paying the BKK Post to get their name on there.

Nereus and Alleycat, You are well out of line. Have you ever listened to a Thai teacher teaching English? I know the phillipino teachers in the school. They're a damn sight more qualified than the so-called Farang teachers. We all talk about 'native English speakers'. The Phillipinos are 'native Eng...

Not sure whether this is fact, but some time ago, when I was contemplating divorce, I consulted a Bangkok lawyer plus others. I was told in simple terms that the paper you sign at the land office has no legal standing in court. The matrimonial laws regarding community property are similar to that in...

Good advice, WL. I had a surge/uninteruptable power supply to protect my computer equipment. It did it's job in protecting my computer but the surge protector itself blew up! A phone charger that was plugged in physically exploded into a trillian pieces leaving big black burn marks on the socket and...

E.G.A.T. Is this company for real?

I wonder if anyone has had real problems with the electric company. I've been in my house for over 2 years and to give credit where it's due, power cuts have become quite rare. However, the last two power cuts have produced such a surge that I have 6 pieces of equipment that have been 'blown'. 1 x v...

It's all been said. In BKK original soundtrack is more the norm. Even in Petchaburi they show original soundtrack. Pattaya, Phuket and other tourist resorts - original soundtrack. My wife is Thai as are her friends and they don't want to watch western movies dubbed in Thai. Ste860 - either you have ...

An interesting sign was erected going past Puktian.

'CITY LIMIT - INDUCE SPEED'.

Short English lesson with the local MIB and it was changed!

Maximum speed limit in LOS is 90kph. Brought in by Taksin on his 'conserve energy' kick and never been revoked. Maximum 60 within city limits. In Hua Hin town area it's 50 and once passed Salesian school it becomes 60 until you've passed the flyover. And buses regularly do 100+ along Petchkasem as d...

It's hard to see how big the cage is. If it is dangerous then it's probably locked up to protect you and me. There's one chained up at Prachuab Khirikan and if you go anywhere near it you'll understand why. The monkeys at Khao Yoi have attacked several people so you really have to be careful of thes...

WL, Was the problem that you couldn't register 3 names on the birth certificate or was it that after the mistake had been made, you couldn't change it. Both my kids have middle names and it's shown as such on their Thai birth certificates. One was done at the embassy in London and the other one done...

If you are going to and from the airport, you should use the new ring road.

1: It's much quicker. Very good road.
2. Much less traffic.
3. No tolls (as yet).
4. Never seen the MIB anywhere on the road.

I would never use the old route across Rama 9 bridge again.

I don't believe there ever was a 1 year tourist visa. As far as I know, nothing has changed at Hull and 1 year non-o visas are still available.
