Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

Was it bad, I am in Bkk and left some plants out that really should be under cover if it was. I could ask someone to check for me, if yes. Thanks

Re: The Beer Thread 2

Is it actually open yet? Or is this just pre-opening spiel? Last time I looked in Bluport, it didn't even look like any work had been done. They are in Bkk as well. Anywhere selling a better selection of ales has to be welcomed. It's just keeping up with a new trend in Bkk malls of craft beers being...

Re: Campers, Camping and/or a Van?

Some of the high end Malls in Bangkok now have camping shops. There are two in the newly opened Emsphere. I was looking at them earlier. I wouldnt bother if you're on a budget! There used to be one in Bluport as well.

We already know that Thailand has a law for everything, but they just aren't enforced. Therefore, it surely is a fact, but not enforced.
So you are stating the law does state foreigners cannot carry passengers?

Re: Mustard

Australias Masterfoods Hot English mustard is now my go to choice. We had this conversation before, but Colmans from a jar here, just doesn't seem as hot as I remember it from the UK. Maybe because I eat so much hot, spicy food here, that it's taste is diminished. But when a kid, mustards in a jar d...

Re: Thai law prohibits foreigners from driving passengers.

The good bit is it seems to be restricted to the Phuket/Surat Thani areas at the moment That's because they set up a special task force in those areas to deal with the problem. The locals have been hopping mad about this for some time, claming foreigners working is affecting their own work/inccome....

Re: The 90 Day Report Thread

I just did my 90 day renewal online, after receiving an automated reminder on Sunday just gone. I whisked off the TM47 five minutes later and received confirmation it had been received. Last time I received the authrorised reply the next day. This time it took until late yesterday afternoon. I was b...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

At what price though? Government subsidies in China are "significant" to say the least and then you have the import duties in Thailand. I understand BYD are planning on building a plant in Thailand, but assume it hasn't happened yet. Import duties are waived on EVs into Thailand, from Chi...

Re: Songkran to become 1 month festival

Im a bit confused about the extended songkran. As people still have to work, I am assuming the vast majority of Thai's will carry on as normal. A few days off, local noodle shops close, travel home and back again and then back to work. Local noodle shops re-open. So it will, for the majority, be all...

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates

The flight to Bkk from Gatwick seems a downgrade from previous daily flights from LHR to Bkk. Instead, daily flights to KL will fly from LHR. Thats quite a change from before. I wonder what's behind that decision?

Re: Premier League 2023-24

It seems that everyone and their dog has an opinion about the referee re-starting the game with the Liverpool keeper, and if retired refs and pundits can't agree, I'll steer well clear of that. But if it should have gone to Forest, then the sequence of events that led to the goal, simply wouldn't ha...
