Re: Coronavirus Precautions/News/Updates for Hua Hin/Prachuap

No sateeb, You are correct. No vaccine is foolproof and you can still be infected albeit with no symptoms and transmit it to others. However, I've read that transmission is reduced from vaccinated people.

Re: Wheelchair hire.

I've rented a wheelchair from Hua Hin Hospital when my mother is visiting. Can't remember the rates but were very reasonable. There is a returnable deposit which is to be expected.

They also offer different sizes.

Re: Summer Olympics - Japan 2021

Thanks, Pete. I'd posted this on another thread: I've just watched 4 hours of the '2020' Olympic opening ceremony. Considering the situation I think they did very well. Nothing like previous ceremonies but a success all the same. No spectators. This will be an event watched around the world on TV in...

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

Good point. Now they're joining Covax being the only country in ASEAN not part of it. Their excuse initially for not joining: The Thai government on Sunday defended its decision not to join the WHO-sponsored coronavirus vaccine programme, saying that to do so would risk the country paying more for t...

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

They identify 8 weeks as the 'sweet spot', mainly because it gets more people vaccinated quicker. The advice is the second shot should not be less than 8 weeks but can be left to 12 weeks which gives a longer protection. It's really a balancing act to vaccinate more people without compromising the p...

Edit. Just noticed that this is a non alcoholic recipe.
You might have put that at the top of the recipe. I could have saved myself reading the whole thing!

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

Strangely enough, people I know in the UK, family and friends, have said that there's more of a reaction to the second dose rather than the first. First dose resulting in a sore arm at worst, but the second dose often like having 24 hr 'flu - headaches, sweating etc. Of course many have no reaction ...

Re: Documentaries

I must admit that I didn't know very much about the Jonestown massacre of 1978. I've just watched a docu/drama of the last days of the People's Temple which culminated in the deaths of over 900 followers. Some committed suicide by order and anyone refusing were killed anyway. Not sure whether it's d...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News

13,655 new cases. I can see this going to 20K +. Can anyone see a light at the end of the tunnel. And they're opening up more 'sandboxes' from August!

558 signatures after 2 months (4 months remaining) The government will 'respond' at 10,000 signatures.

Definitely a lost cause!

The briefing today did state that both the 60+ (registration required) and the 75+ (walk in) were only for people living in Bangkok and the surrounding provinces.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

The dead woman’s husband, Saksit Dujwan, 44, said both he and his wife received AstraZeneca as their second jab on Monday after previously being given Sinovac as the first jab. Saksit explained that his wife had high blood pressure and was taking medication for it. He said that before the vaccinati...

More vaccinated people are dying of Covid than unvaccinated people, according to a recent report from Public Health England (PHE). The report shows t...

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread

I know I'll get some 'comments' but I've just watched "Space Jam A New Legacy". I'm not normally into cartoons (except Roadrunner and Tom & Jerry) but this one is exceptional. Really impressive how they've blended - Traditional 'draw' cartoons with animation, CGI and real life. Almost ...
