I’ve been there a couple of times during the day and the pool does get used. You can bung your kids in there whilst you have dinner. As you say, it’s not a bad restaurant and in the afternoons it’s pretty relaxed, there’re enough seating choices to get a bit of space to yourself. I haven’t...

'A Daily Express investigation recently uncovered a £1 billion a year benefits black hole in Thailand, with even successful expats still claiming Government handouts' After reading that I’m glad I’m not resident for paying UK tax. I have to work hard enough to finance my own life in Thailand w...

Visa E-application

I see that on page 9 of todays Bangkok Post there is a notice from the immigration bureau announcing the ability to apply for some services over the net from March.

From the airline side of things, before anyone buys a one year open ticket which will normally cost you full scheduled price, check the rules that your chosen airlines has on changing tickets. Generally you should be able to do that for between 50 and 100 euros which could be a considerable saving o...

They’re not all that cheap, but if you go to somewhere like Home-pro they have baths to suit every possible need. There are huge things with jets and god knows what to please anyone. They still can’t compete with here in Luxembourg though where I’ve seen a shower cubicle with a waterproof tele...

So the real-estate market is dying in Hua Hin, with no more new housing developments! Where is the down-side in that; Pattaya can have them all as far as I’m concerned!
Fill them up with Russians.

Darwinian, thank you for the information, where exactly is Medsai located? The last one I tried was the second on the left as you head into that complex before the harbour. I don’t know the name of it but it was very good; the best chilli crab I’ve eaten for a long while.

Tasteless, overpriced fish and chips with Karaoke! All you need now is a group of bleach-blonde adolescent girls falling over on happy hour Bacardi Breezers and you have recreated the true British pub experience; I’ll have to give it a try sometime.

That tuk-tuk shown in the photo is one of those Bajaj things from India. I can understand why they might ban them; I used to use them in Jakarta and they’re unstable as hell. In fact I knocked one over myself one night with a Toyota truck after he U-turned in front of me. Fortunately it didn’t d...

Thank you for the information on the bar scene anyway Jockey; I’ll give those beach bars a try sometime.
I’m always looking for good sea-food restaurants and have tried a couple near the harbour there, do you have any advice on that front?
