Re: Can you walk on beach in hua hin in december

Walking on the beach in Hua Hin is terrible. If you can avoid the horse crap, the dog sh#t and the M150's and general crap left on the beach, good luck to you. Never understand why people think this is a nice walking beach. On top of it the water is polluted and full of sea lice and jelly fish. Ano...

Re: Every Thai-Cambodian border check point and Kanchanaburi border check point will not stamp

Wasn't the Immigration chief up to sacked a couple of days ago because of all the corruption at land border points? Supposedly, some of the accused bombers were regularly using border crossings from either Cambodia or Laos. Yes, IMO this is a reaction to the BKK bombings but I would expect "st...

Re: Every Thai-Cambodian border check point and Kanchanaburi border check point will not stamp

Any reason why? Is there a news source for this information please? I went to Kanchahaburi checkpoint today at 1pm with a a Huan Hin visa run company. All border check points closed as of 6am this morning. Reasons seem to be the bombing and searching for people but we will never know whether politi...

Govt bans visa runs; Thailand border check points will not stamp

Every Thai-Cambodian border check point and Kanchanaburi border check point will not stamp They closed the visa run for falang indefinitely on the above border points. No stamp even if you have a valid Thai visa. Seems like only option for Hua Hin and Bangkok is fly in/fly out or Rayong. But could ...

Re: Ran into a Youtube celebrity at Market Village today.

Its all about him on his videos and yet can't say g'day to a stranger who recognises him. Obviously a yank tosser or a paranoid prick.

Re: Huge explosion rocks central Bangkok

Still doesn't make sense why a people smuggling ring would bomb bangkok and bring attention to themselves. That's one mighty personal grudge and alot of resources

Re: Thailand's domestic tourism down

Things are looking very down regardless of TAT's endless self-deluding prophecies. Financial crisis, bombings, lack of infrastructure, scams, dirty beaches and the list goes on.

Re: Huge explosion rocks central Bangkok

I especially liked the front page of the Bangkok Post today - the National Police Chief trawling the bars of Nana and trying to 'reassure' tourists that Bangkok is safe. And all the police in the background laughing and smiling. Surely they should be more concerned with getting the investigation don...

Re: Huge explosion rocks central Bangkok - casualties reported

I take back my earlier post. After seeing the video, it appears quite obvious that this guy is the bomber. Very worrying that he doesn't appear to be Thai. It's only appearance though, it could easily be a Thai in a wig and wearing a pair of thick rimmed glasses. I think it possible that others in ...

Re: "The Over-Development of Hua Hin and the Consequences

Hua Hin is hardly over-developed. Just look at places like phuket, pattaya, etc. Cities are growing all across the world but thankfully Hua Hin remains a well balanced town with some problems but retains its character. Not sure where you live in the U.S. GLC but perhaps look at the problems closer t...

Re: Is Living Here Difficult for You?

I went to a thai language school and freaked out when they put the same word up on the whiteboard seven times and they meant seven completely different things depending on tone - that's when I knew there was no chance of cracking this. Best to live in a world of blissful ignorance. :D

Re: Thailand's Trains

I love the trains. I go to bangkok from HH. I leave at 4pm and 4.5 hours later I come up out of the subway at soi cowboy Terminal 21. Total cost each way, 2nd class with air con about $12 USD. Much safer than driving. I did the overnight BKK to CNX Chiang Mai run, only 15 hours for the 12 hour trip...
