Re: Hua Hin beach closure on Wednesdays?

In Jomtien and Pattaya beaches are closed Wednesdays and I think I read
that Thursdays may also get closures, just to tick off the tourists.
Nice to see the vendors get a day off durimg the week though as they
can sure be busy on the weekends.

Re: Police launch campaign to improve Pattaya's sex-tainted image

Pattaya will always be what it is. Since it got built up during the Vietnam war as an R and R resort city at the seaside, that is the way Pattaya has been ever since. It is ridiculous for the Police, Government or Military to try change anything about the place. It is what it is, just as Las Vegas w...

Re: Is Hua Hin safe anymore?

Hua Hin is as safe as anywhere in Thailand, and I feel safer here than in Pattaya. I feel safer in the Jomtien beach area of Pattaya, but the mix of tourists are different, than the tourists in Hua Hin. I tend not to be out after midnight, as I have seen many people getting drunk by then, and I woul...

Re: Hua Hin is so,so quiet today.

I was through the Night market at 7:30PM on Sunday night March 5. The market was about 1/2 full. Binta baht was busy, and Soi 80 was very dead. It is definetely quieter than it was in January though, and I enjoyed that fact, as getting around Hua Hin on a motorbike is a challange most of the year. G...

Drivers in Hua Hin

I have been in Hua Hin for 3 weeks of the 2 months I have been in country. Compared with drivers in Bangkok, I have found that 99 percent of the Hua Hkn drivers seem to have mlre patience, and try to cooperate with the other drivers. There are lots of moterbikes in Hua Hin so I try to drive amonst t...

Re: Why do so many Thais look down on tourist / foreigners?

I fully believe that TAT likes tourists, the kind that come to Thailand for one week to one month. That way they get your money, and don't have to worry about all that paperwork, such as visas. The expat, and longer term visitors on the other hand are a bit of a pain. They have to pay For those visa...

Re: Hua Hin - Pattaya ferry project news and updates

I should have read the last page. Thanks Big Boy for your report. Guess I had better pack a snack when we go from Pattaya to Hua Hin. I did ride a ferry from the main land in Honduras to an island called Roatan, it was the same style as this ferry and had moderate waves on the sailing. The boat was ...

Re: Hua Hin - Pattaya ferry project news and updates

Has anyone taken the ferry in either direction yet? I am curious how the
boat handles, and what kind of service is on board for drinks, or food etc.
I am totally unfamiliar with the ferry service outside of Canada.

Re: Shopping Malls in Hua Hin

I am finding that the local markets in Bangkok are still running okay, especially the ones that have the fresh veggies and meat products. All in all I have seen that the economy is worse than I thought it was and except for some night shopping, the small market where I am staying is very quiet. In T...

Some people do not wear helmets because they are idiots no matter where they
might be. I have only had two motorcycle accidents and both times my helmet has
saved my life. Thailand is no different.

Say does soi 112 and 114 exist on that map near the top left side. I have a friend live
in that area near the main road, and was wondering if there is a map that has their
area included?

Re: Why do expats settle for horrible relationships with Thai girls who hate them?

Marriages are work no matter where you live. Some last 7 years like my first one. and some last 15 to 20 years or more. I think that the different in age may make some difference but it is the compatibility, and interests and a few other factors that keep the marriage going strong, or falling apart....
