Re: Euros 2024
England game too late for me. But I read good midfield and attack with many chances squandered (same as usual though with no Kane). With a fit squad only maybe one of those duffers in defence would have got off the bench (and not the Pub Drunk who caused the second Belgium goal with his error, and w...

Re: The Recommended Movies Thread
As I got taken to task (in a very jovial way) when I posted about the film Stratton, which apparently had a very low critics rating, last night I watched “Knives Out” starring Craig Daniel and I thought it was average at best, in fact I would normally have turned it off after 15-20 minutes, but was...

Wrong side of the tracks . A Spanish film with a young Thai girl. Not your usual grumpy old veteran cleans up the neighborhood. I enjoyed it. Ifound on netflix Pedantic, I know, but you typed film instead of series. :D Three series so far with a fourth on the way! Looks interesting from reviews.

Deep State [Fox tv, available at the usual sites] What happens when a man who believes he has retired from MI6 is called back to do one more job to regain his life, only to discover that this job may mean he has no life to go back to. I've just finished the first of 2 series of spy stuff action. It...

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading
Well it was my judgment that the cops appeared to be the most unlike cops I’ve ever seen - I agree that 10 minutes might have been a bit short to know, but that’s how I felt!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Blue Lights might be more to your taste! Totally different. Very realistic and no scifi....
Instead of rolling your eyes, how about you tell us how and when you did it? I have done it and what you have posted is fantasy!
No pissing contests here please. I investigated it with my shipping agent 8 years ago before coming to Thailand and found it wasn't feasible because of t...

Re: Customs cost of international parcel
Yes the value is as decided by customs. On a privately imported car (don't know if that's still possible) You would get your importing agent to negotiate with the customs office in situ to reduce what they claim. A good/well known international agent represented in Thailand could save you money (ev...

Re: Customs cost of international parcel
The import duty has nothig to do with any "value" shown on any invoice. Thai Customs have their own method, mostly influenced by what they think you can pay, OR, if a customs officer takes a shine to whatever it is, then enough to make you decide to let them keep it! Yes the value is as d...

Re: Customs cost of international parcel
I have a sneaking feeling that sporting equipment might raise a customs flag. Beauty products/cosmetics did too for my daughter. It's not so much the cost as the pain of having to go a fair distance to pay them.
The cost will be based on value, not size.

Re: TV series worth watching/downloading
I watched Passenger yesterday. Police procedural but quite spooky. Not perfect, a bit muddled and a bit sketchily scifi (mostly just hinted at until near the end of the series). I thought the characterisations were generally really good and I'll definitely watch the second series. It ends on a clif...

Re: Routine expat Blood Donors request
Does anyone know if they have blood storage facilities anywhere in HH so those with these super-rare groups can stash some for emergencies? My late wife had that problem last year. Blood only keeps for I think two or three months so it has to be ditched after it expires. Hospitals will check around...

Re: Best bus operator to get to Sukhumvit?
The ekamai bus has no reserved seating so if it's busy you can sit uncomfortable for 4 hours with a bag on you lap It's about 5 stops on tube from centre of soi cowboy etc The airport bus has more space and more expensive But then about 40 minutes and some changes with a walk to get to central part...
