Re: RE: Re: Bangkok Bank Visa Debit

By 'nearly useless', do you mean they work only at ATM machines? Yes and a handful of retailers none are common here. I hope this will change since a chip card is a lot safer, but as of now those new cards are an inconvenience. I use my card mostly in ATMs, Tesco, Macro, Home Pro and Villa Market. ...

Re: RE: Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

I think that by now nearly everyone, Thai and Farang, know that Thailand has a culture of corruption. It's exists at every level of society from the car wash attendant, who accepts a bribe to move your car to the front of the line, to the traffic cop, who invents an offence in order to receive a br...

Re: RE: Re: Bangkok Bank Visa Debit

I use my Bangkok Bank Visa for online payments. Visas from my other bank accounts don't work for online payments, does anyone know which other cards can be used for online payments from Thai bank accounts? Sounds like you have a proper Visa card from BB. Mine is a debit card as mentioned in op, and...

Re: Routine Eye Sight tests in Thailand

Can someone confirm that Mr. Pairat is still doing business in Hua Hin, and if so, where is his shop? Google Maps link appreciated if he's still in business. I guess before asking here I should've asked my wife first, because she confirmed his clinic is still there. And I can see his sign using Goog...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

I don't know about Pedigree wet food, but the dry food they sell here in Thailand are full of what is called fillers. Low on nutrients just ingridients to make your dog get full. This is the rating from Dog food advisor, 1 star https://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/pedigree-dog-food-dry/ ,...

Re: What Do You Feed Your Dog

I spent quite some time researching dog food online and compare to what is available here in Thailand. As of now we feed all our 5 dogs a mix of steamed rice with either boiled chicken, bbq chicken or pork in the morning. In the evening they have dry food from Taste of The Wild. This dry food is exp...

Re: RE: Re: Bicycle laws in Thailand?

Well civilised countries have laws for cycling, but what about Thailand? I've just read through this translation of the Thai Road Traffic act and according to that, you're not required to be sober on a bicycle! ( The ability to balance ensures that you are. ) Section 84 lists the other parts of the...

Bicycle laws in Thailand?

I have looked through the Traffic Law trying to find any rules and/or regulation with regards to bicycle use on the roads, but haven't really found anything. Are there anyone on the Forum which knows of these rules and regulations, if any exist? What about electric bicycles? Are they to be counted a...

Re: Mitsubishi Hua Hin vs Cha Am vs Pranburi

I agree. In the beginning I used Hua Hin, but the whole experience there felt very amateurish for being a dealership. The last year we have only used Cha Am, and are very pleased with that dealer.
