Re: Which Mobile Phone?
Agreed..As soon as your phone is working on the Android system..You know it's gonna be pre-loaded with crap..You find yourself (within hours/minutes) of booting up that new phone being prompted to 'ACCEPT' to never ending array of apps etc! I've done same as Buksi did on his Xiaomi, & got rid of...

Re: Songkran to become 1 month festival
All I've seen on various webpages, forums, sites, & Thai news reports is.. This year's Songkran Festival will bring in multi-billions of tourist revenue (OK, slight pi**take of the figure). This year's Water Festival will hold World Heritage status..(wtf..?) This year's Songkran festival will ru...

Re: HTMS Sukhothai - Crew Abandon Ship
Reading the report from the Bangkok Post..It seems there was quite a few areas of damage, & many listed as 'unidentifiable' ..Now I'm not a naval expert, but after reading the post from Jack_Batty (& I DO believe him when he says a vessel can be sealed when in rough seas) it would seem there...

Re: Tonnes of carcinogenic cadmium in Samut Sakhon go missing
As B.B. states in his opening post..10,000T is a helluva figure..that's 400 x 25T truck-loads..Now that's a very fat brown envelope I suspect! There must be many folk accountable for all of this, but let's not forget that more of that big figured money, if offered, will make the whole issue go away....

Re: Thailand on ‘The White Lotus’
I've read sooo many reports heralding the announcement of the 3rd series of White Lotus being filmed in Thailand and that the tourist agencies are over the moon about the scenes that will highlight the natural beauty of the country...Ahem..Are they not forgetting something here...? Are they not forg...

OK you folks, many thanks for the various plugs, & reccomendations..Opted to use Goy Bravo (good reputation, & at 1800b the cost was not to shabby)...

Reliable taxi to Swampy.
I'm gonna be needing a taxi for 2 people + 2 cases to Swampy A/port next week..For a long time now whenever I've needed a taxi (for myself or others) I have used Nany's, but alas they have stopped their taxi service, so here I am asking for reccomendations..Both price & service to be considered,...

Evening/night-time coffee...
OK, so yes, when I go out on the town I'm drinking beers or wine...But.. Many nights I fancy the calmness of a cafe, a coffee & a slice of cake/pastry before picking my lady up from her workplace.. Are there any cafes downtown/town centre (not at the end of 112 or Bor Fai) that are open for cust...

Re: Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
As B.B.has just mentioned, wheelchair access has been forgotten about almost, & say you get off the train in the dark..Where are the taxis/songtaews? Parked under the tree opposite the old station buildings, so you have to push/propell the wheelchair, or carry/drag your heavy luggage all that wa...

Re: Hua Hin live music scene
Just a quickie...that made me smile.. I was out the other night listening to a local band & they started playing the opening chords to Hotel California..At that point the Thai lady sat opposite me said "listen, they're playing the Thai national anthem"..& laughed..Well that got a t...

Re: High Season 2023 has arrived
Yes B.B...I rode my m/cycle down 94 the other night & it was awash with farang wandering aimlessly in the middle of the road or crossing right in front of me! (In & out of the parked cars).. Wonderland bar complex was quite busy too, but Maldives was quiet. At around 11pm I rode along Poolsu...

Traffic lights planned for Pala U Rd
Evening you lot. Heard a report today that there are plans to install traffic lights on the Pala U/Klong Rd junction..OK, casting the safety aspect aside it will really make the klong Rd a PiA to drive along..There's so many needless traffic lights along there as it is...& knowing the Thai plann...

BIG queues at Swampy airport.
Yesterday I arrived back in the kingdom, & like most of us, I landed at Swampy. I was the last person off the A380, & I'm slower at walking thanks to a dodgy leg...So, when I got to the end of the travelator/walkway I simply could not beieve the sheer volume of people waiting to be proccesse...

Re: Just HOW are folk going to get to the new rail station?
I noticed (& so did B.B.) that the kerbs are painted with B/W markings to allow parking on the road side...But..If the station side of the Rd is (& possibly will be) lined with songtaews, then on Sundays the opposite side will be lined with the BKK/Chinese minivans/people carriers outside th...

Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport & other domestic locations
Hua Hin airport seems to be trapped in some kind of 'pause' setting'..It is no busier now than it was 20+ years ago. Back then (as I've posted on here before) the regular Bangkok Airways flight from BKK to Samui via H.H. was a gem..BUT..H.H. airport bumped up it's landing fees to the extent that B.A...
