Re: Good Barber / Hairdresser

Would these Blueport barbers understand how I want my hair?.. or are they like so many here that may as well be androids?...doing the same 'short, back & sides' day-in, day-out. My problem is getting the hairdresser to under stand my Thai/English on the matter of NOT cutting any of my long hair off....

Sands Inn on Poolsuk Rd

I was walking past this place 2 days ago, & the building has been totally ripped out! Further more, inside were 2 mini-diggers with 'hen-pecker' attachments pecking away at anything they felt like decimating.. I really was dumbstruck when there are 4 floors above these diggers, & one/both of them ha...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

Sorry if this story has been mentioned earlier, but... ..I was reading a recent copy of 'Hua Hin Today', & inside was a feature/report that the powers-that-be here are about to ban the sale/registration of new double-decker coaches due to their bad accident record over the last few years.. ..Excuse ...

Laptop with cracked screen

After the lid on my hp lappy had been shut hard with reading glasses still inside, the screen is now unreadable..do I now assume this laptop is scrap, or are cases like this repairable here in HH..? If the item is indeed now scrap, I,m open to suggestions as to where I could buy a cheap/second hand ...

New highway planned from Hua Hin to bypass?

A good mate of mine has just got notification of a planned 6-lane highway coming towards town from the bypass! His document shows an intersection as the Rd climbs the hill at the 'Elephant temple' area...with 2 lanes going North, 4 lanes proceeding into town & the last lanes peeling off South.. ..ma...

Re: Which car would you feel safest in Thailand

The whole front end of the Jazz disintegrated...(as I suspect it's designed to do..even wrapped the plastic radiator around the front of the block...Ouch. IMO it would have been a different story on here if the HH Mib had not known prior that the phone was being tracked

Re: Airbus A380 superjumbo saved from extinction by Emirates

A mate & I were chatting one evening, & the subject of my Emirates flight was mentioned.. ... I told my mate that my A380 rtn flight was the cheapest I'd paid in years (£384), He then went on to tell me that no A380 in the sky today has ever met the fuel consumption figures that Airbus initially quo...

Re: Cambodian ladyboys nabbed for robberies in Hua Hin

The wife saw them walk into Binta at the top-end (near temple)..They soon picked up pace when they realised the 2 bars near us had about 15 L/Bs.. wifey also spotted their un-easiness. BUT..Soon after there was an incident at a bar near the temple-end of Binta, & the MiB came in droves (ambulance to...

Thai lady flips pick-up outside Jungle Juice

The law of averages usually says there's no space/room for a vehicle to roll/flip down a narrow St..But.. 2 nights ago a Thai lady sped down the narrow Soi past Jungle Juice..hit several parked motorcycles, & her pick-up flipped onto it's side. But somehow the rescue foundation & the ambulance arriv...

Re: The ever-improving state of Hua Hin's roads

Less than 1 month after laying a lovely smooth new surface at the Chomsin rail crossing..they're tonight digging a trench across to ( I presume) lay the power cable for the new barrier that's gonna be fitted (the foundation/anchor bolts have just been done)... Why O why could they not dig the trench...

Re: New Year's Vehicle Accidents - 2018

So looking at the chart..this years accident figures are same as last year, death-rate is only slightly down on last year, and the injury figure is only slightly lower than last year.. ...Yet again the proven formula of MiBs sat in a roadside tent over the holiday period has done wonders to reduce t...

Re: New Year's Vehicle Accidents - 2018

I read a local report on the seasonal road-accident statistics for this area, & I'm sure the breakdown of nationalities included 1 British person..But as yet have not read any reported accident/fatality on any English-speaking sites..?

Re: Bintabaat shut down at 12.15 by masked police!

MiB came down Binta with their pick-up + lights flashing at ~ 1.30...music stopped, tables in off the St, but after that they went..Everyone then carried on drinking, but in a mellow subdued manner till about 2.30/3.00.  Good that the MiB were not forceful. :thumb: Yes NOKYAI we had...
