Re: Scoot Launches Gatwick to Bangkok at £170

Would not worry about the flight crew as they will have to be fully qualified as any major airline. A very close friend of mine is a Captain for a low cost airline but is paid similar salary for our biggest airline.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19

I'm located in western Canada and have had two Pfizer shots, for the two days after each shot felt rotten as many of my friends here have, be it AZ, Moderna or Pfizer. I truly believe it has nothing to do with being asian, black or white

Re: Govt, China envoy discuss arms maintenance depot

China is dangerous, South China Sea expansion, breaking agreements about Hong Kong, African involvement. If Thailand and Laos are not careful with the Chinese financing dams and high speed rail they may well become only a Chinese province 25 years down the road.

Re: Hua Hin airport due for upgrade

Thailightzone, I've been hanging around Huahin for over 17 years, I dread taking the taxi from BKK to Huahin, would love flights from HKG,NRT or TPE, but think in my lifetime only a pipedream, I don't care if a A-380 could land here that would happen. If I was twenty younger may be optimistic. I've ...

Re: Hua Hin airport due for upgrade

The airport in its currant state can with ease handle A-320 and Boeing 737 aircraft, the A-320 requires a takeoff distance of about 1850 meters with a normal load and a landing distance of about 1500 meters to land, a 737 is similar, what does change these numbers would be on very hot days.

Re: Hiding out

The Pacific Northwest is truly a beautiful part of the world and the growth at Whistler is amazing, believe now the biggest ski resort in North America, first time I went there a single gondola, gravel parking lot after a 30 plus mile gravel road from Squamish. Getting old now Vancouver is great for...

Re: Hiding out

Yes, have looked into returning, by the time with doing covid test and repatriation flights and then stuck in a Thai quarantine hotel, having to stay totally sober for two weeks I'm out about $9000 my money. I'll suck it up here till the vaccine. Wish I had a submarine I could sell!

Hiding out

Been reading and enjoying the forum for over fifteen years but never posted, currently stuck on the dark side of the world due to the covid. Bought into the whole Thai program, house, wife, son and crazy english cocker spaniel. Only hope that with the coming vaccine can go home to Huahin. I'll try n...
