Re: True Visions Footbal Package

When I first went into True in Korat and asked about their programmes, expecting them to have some sort of knowledge, or at least a brochure, they asked me to check on the internet. The price for the premiership is fair as you get pretty much every live game to choose from, which you don't get in th...

Yes, I am aware of the above and I was only reporting what he did. But next year I will also kill two birds with one stone.

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

Did they actually want the 90 day reporting form as well? I would have thought that's superceded by the new visa stamp. Well, my 90 day report was due on the 12th and the visa extension renewal on the 20th. I wanted to kill two birds with one stone and I was waiting for the reply from the Embassy, ...

Re: 'How To' - Requirements for visa extensions etc

I extended my OA (retirement) visa without any hassle today, so I thought I would relay my experience here. I went alone and got there at about 10.10, a bit later than planned. I thought there were three others ahead of me in the queue, but one was just waiting for their docs to be returned. Two cou...

Re: Back in the UK after 14 years

Thought I'd replied to this already, but must have forgotten to press submit! Good to hear you're settling in okay DM, I think the UK is a great place and your experience of the NHS is that of most peoples. Only bad news is deemed newsworthy! I had a couple of years up in Sheffield and I too was sur...

Re: The Thai Cultural Shock

I think if you have been reasonably travelled before settling here, it helps. In my case, Thailand was the 6th Asian country I had visited and I had read up a lot before coming here and continued to do so even after becoming a regular visitor. But the biggest culture shock for me was my first ever v...

Re: Premier League 2017-2018

I couldn't agree more- while looking the other day I was invited to take part in a survey - I normally don't bother but was so incensed by what they have done I did and believe I I included the words " it is crap" and "go back to how it was before" - I'm not holding my breath though! Yes, I did the...

Re: Sending money

I've been using TransferWise for over a year now ( Sterling to THB). A lot cheaper and quicker than my bank and a much better rate. They tell you exactly how much to expect and the date of arrival, usually no more than 2 working days. If you don't have a Smartphone you can also transfer via your la...

Okay, oh righteous one, relax. No crusade at all. I started by merely pointing out you had criticised others for something you too were guilty of, that's all - and that's something I do as well.

Re: Is International Mail Taking a Long Time Getting to HH?

From my fairly limited experience, I'd say this was a Hua Hin thing, I never had any problems receiving mail in either Korat or Bangkok and as a consequence of the 'posts' I have read about problems here, I still use my other half's condo in Bkk for international mail.
