Re: UK Retirees to face cuts in Pensions

I think the first thing they will do will be to look at the average value of any overpayment and then consider that against the cost of seeking to recover the money from x individuals They will also consider the moral of seeking to recover from those who are not to blame for the error, which for mos...

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

I doubt Airbnb will want to collect taxes. They will lose 1000's of clients Word wide. I also thought the article part PR for the condo construction industry trying to re-assure potential buyers. It was interesting to learn that many Chinese investors have bought heavily in Thailand for short term l...

Re: Hua Hin Condo owners fined for short term rentals

Wouldn't you be better checking with your Thai lawyer who you make reference to in your post? Somehow I don't think anything Expedia say will cut a lot of ice with the Thai authorities.

Re: Uploading photo here?

I suspect that many who are into photography or just like to take lots of pic's use a hosting site which are widely available. You can then add the photo directly from the hosting site onto here, via the appropriate 'insert image' link above the post a reply box. Although some of these seem fraught ...

Re: Where to buy Grass Seed

Was actually looking for somewhere local in HH, I know I can buy turf sods, squares about 500x500 just down the road from my house but that is not the way I would like to do it. The reason I bought from there is I couldn't find anything here! My neighbour gets his brought from the UK when guests co...

Re: 2018 Football World Cup News and Prediction Tournament

Spain has no coach. Will they rally, or will they dissolve? Will be interesting to watch. Pete  They have a new coach for the tournament, Fernando Hierro, who won 89 caps for Spain and was Director of Football. I don't think the change will be a big problem for them, as there will be contin...

Re: RE: Re: Where to buy Grass Seed

The plant shops at Chatachak market sell grass seed. Outside the market, across street. Just find the stretch of road with tons on flower and plant shops. In answer to Stevep, the above is correct. I bought some there the other week. Its a great market actually and open daily. Apart from the plant ...

Re: 2018 Football World Cup News and Prediction Tournament

I thought yesterday was a game between two poor sides. Some nice goals, but generally a poor standard. Maybe both teams were drugged? One with uppers and one with downers! :D I can't choose a winner of the tournament at this stage, it seems very open. But I suspect Spain and Argentina will be there ...

What a fckg. stupid comment, for you a bar girl should be groped and his customer should accept that another man grope her without any reaction.
Wow, some really strange stuff coming out here. So it's all about (misplaced) possessive macho stuff, seriously?

Re: Australian man 'stabbed in chest' in Thailand club

The aftermath (and consequences) of molesting, much less using abusing language has to be borne by the molester as in other parts of the world, not only is LOS. Any other means of retaliation by the other aggrieved party either by a knife, rolling pin, bottle, fists etc is justifiable and if it was...

Re: British home comfort food?

While mentioning Branston's, I tried their baked beans and I have to say, it's the first brand I've come across that I rate better than Heinz! I am assured by Dave at HHH&B that Branston beans are Cross & Blackwell as was. And I agree they are the best. Heinz has always been over rated in my opinio...

They would in Canada in 1867 and Australia in 1901. All very civilised and a natural progression from colony to nation. There are others.
Really........Hmm, wonder what the Canadian Independence Days is all about.
Celebrating the birth of their nation. What do you think it's all about?
