Re: Premier League 2017-2018

I honestly think he'll be a hard act to follow, and it's going to take a while for the Spuds/Arse gap to close. I think it depends on how much the board will be prepared to spend. Wenger has been woeful in securing quality defenders, that has to be the priority, irrespective of what formation event...

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

Maybe a separate thread is needed on translation, but up in Korat, the Mayor's office had a notice board provided by the Mall at one of the entrances and they put some blurb up about local tourist spots that had clearly just relied on google translate for English, because it was complete gobbledygoo...

Re: Good Barber / Hairdresser

I use a booth run by a couple of guys in the basement at Bluport, near the gold shops. I watch TV whist they do their thing and have always been really pleased with the outcome. 120 baht. My first ever hair cut in Thailand, however, looked like this - by a lady in Korat who otherwise works as a hair...

Re: shade sails (where to buy?)

As I said, no idea how this will play out with the sail/awning company, only time tells. Reputations rest on work previously done. Hua Hun Awnings aren't cheap (in my view) and I have yet to use them, although I have quotes from them. but farang neighbours have and their work seemed pretty good to ...

Re: Electric Kettle?

Re: kettles. I check on the net first and if it's not stated they have one, I don't stay there. Once or twice a 'kettle-less' hotel seemed the best option and the other half called them to check and lo and behold, they did actually provide tea and coffee. I always take my own tea bags though.

The bus swayed back and forth so bad I thought we might tip over.
I noticed that on Thursday heading to Bkk, but only on Rama II road, so wasn't sure whether it was the shocks or the road surface? It was a forward / backwards type of role. I guess speed might be a factor as well?

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

Does the Bell coach only go to the airport or any other Bangkok destination? I only ask because Bangkok City is shown as a destination on their booking form, but no service comes up. I know it popsup in their drop down menu, but when you go further doen the home page, it only shows HH to the airpor...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

I believe they changed it. Was nice to see how many seats left before you booked. I booked a seat for a friend this past weekend, you can pick your seat *after* payment. I supposed if you got through booking part, then it means a seat was available. I appreciate your feedback - thanks. I just booke...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

Has anyone used Bells website recently?. I am looking at availability to and from swampy and they used to have a column that would tell you how many seats were still available for each service and for some reason, they seem to have done away with that now. Or have they moved it and I just can't find...

Re: British minister visits Thailand for trade talks

At the Royal Thai Restaurant in Abereen, you could order Somtam ans it was made with unripe papaya as it is here, but it was of course somtam Thai rather than somtam Isaan. In all fairness, UK restaurants cannot dare to make authentic somtam Isaan due to health and safety regulations concerning the...
