Re: Back in the UK after 14 years

I hadn't lived there for 17 years but just filled in the form and used my parent's address. Got my UK license renewed no problem.

Re: Back in the UK after 14 years

Having just spent half a year in the UK I'll post my very brief pros and cons ... Pro UK life Driving - it is a breeze, people are not trying to kill you every time you get on the road. Everyone follows the rules, no stress. Cars – amazingly cheap, can get really good deals but the tax and insurance...

Re: Security at Hua Hin to be stepped up for high season

Yep, it did say 'Thais and foreigners' so the jump they're predicting is a domestic one. There are certainly more Thai tourists in Prachuap than there ever were before.

Re: Clean Hua Hin's Beaches Movement

Time to ditch plastic excuses and save the seas For years now it has been a habit of mine to pocket a few used (but clean) plastic bags before heading to the supermarket. I remember at first I would often get a funny look as I handed one of these to the person at the register. They couldn't fathom ...

Re: The Beer Thread

One thing I have noticed after a recent break from it is how rotten you feel the following day after over indulging on Thai beer. You don't get the same feeling from drinking beer in other countries - there are definitely some nasties in the beer here. Go easy on it!

Re: The i-things - Apple devices and software thread

I have acquired a Macbook Pro, have no interest in the thing myself so was going to give it to the kids or donate it somewhere. It still has a lot of the previous owner’s data and software on it though so is there an easy way to format or factory reset it? I don’t need the hassle or expense of setti...

Anyone know if you can still renew a Thai passport in Prachuap?

Or is it a long drive to Suratthani?
