Re: Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency thread

This is why it is a good idea to spread your portfolio and not just invest in the one coin/asset.

Re: Thailand floods of 2017

Yep, I rode through there the day after the deluge and it was dry, they've obviously opened the dam which has caused the flood water. It happens down our way too to prevent the reservoir bursting which would mean a lot more flood water!

Re: Police checkpoints in Hua Hin

You can usually anticipate how a bad Thai will drive, but the seasonal loonies are the proverbial pain. The seasonal loonies on pink finos don't kill 24,000 people per year on the roads here, Thai drivers do. I guess I have different priorities on the roads to you and the Hua Hin police, and we'll ...

Re: Police checkpoints in Hua Hin

So you're confirming it is a farang targeted roadblock, giving the menaces a chance to escape with no lid on and probably no license, and the tourists a chance to get stung because they have the wrong piece of paper. I almost hit one coming the wrong way doing just that, laughing away like a loon. I...

Re: Police checkpoints in Hua Hin

I knew some smartarse would spout up about 'legalities' If you're legal then DON'T pay a fine with a smile. Challenge it and demand a ticket. So how do you know if you are legal or not if they do not have the equipment to test the bike and will not tell you the legal noise limit or the offici...

No, that was written in Thai - but the form is in both languages which says to me that they intend to fine a lot of farangs.

Re: Thai women second fattest in Asia

I'm not sure rice is a factor, look at the physique of the women in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, all countries big on rice.

The Seven-11 virus across Thailand is more likely the culprit.

sting.jpg I've been on the road for a couple of weeks covering hundreds of kilometers across several provinces in Thailand on a motorcycle. Never ever do I have a problem with police until I get to Hua Hin. Every time. The sting was at their usual spot near Salesian school. First they want to rifle...

Re: Thais rank low again at English

I'm sorry, but comparing people who can't speak English to people who can't speak Thai is simply absurd. :thumb: :agree: This has jack shit to do with the ability of expats to speak Thai. It is about the failings of the bloated and inefficient education system and the sense of entitlement that most...

Re: Irregular printer use = can't print

How do you stop your desk top printer ink from drying out or the nozzles seizing up or whatever happens to stop the printer working when you don't use it often enough? Not much you can do really, we've had a similar problem which has resulted in two dead printers. I take stuff to the resort next do...

I really don't think they should fork the chain because the wallet company screwed up their coding. It isn't a problem with Ethereum as such.

Re: Solar power setup for your home in Thailand

Thanks for that, yes a lot of info there - the pump calculation was done for the volume of water and Koi carp that like it clean, there was a certain flow rate through the filter that it needed. The a/c pump cost 1,600 and does the job fine - just thought an eco-solution would be better. You're not ...
