Re: Hua Hin police to get tough on motorbike helmets

I'm not including foreigners in my comments. I assume you'll can ride. However, I guess you haven't seen the Thai motorcyclists roaring up and Petchkasem road north of Soi 2. They greatly exceed the speed limit, weave in and out of traffic and present a danger to other drivers. Helmets don't compen...

Re: My drive to Langkawi

Went to Langkawi a couple of years ago and enjoyed the place. Agree on the driving, Malaysia is far more civilized than Thailand when it comes to road etiquette and behaviour.

Re: Hua Hin police to get tough on motorbike helmets

What is bad about that? People who ride what you call “big bikes” are very likely to use crash helmets as they are more knowledgable about riding motorcycles. :agree: You rarely see 'big bikes' pulling dodgy u-turns, or riding up the wrong side of the street, or talking on the phone while riding, o...

Re: Grab Coming to Hua Hin

I was just commenting on the attachment above showing prices, good to hear they're sensible now.

Either way Grab is a welcome development that may take some of the dominance away from Hua Hin's taxi mafia.

Short-term leasing in condominium: Getting it right Following the recent court rulings handed down to a condominium unit owner in Hua Hin, two of many questions arise: Why is it illegal to rent out condominium units on a short-term basis? Never fails to amaze me that these 'schemes' are only enforced with great zeal in tourist towns and not nationwide. Easy money.

What does it prove? Where are they and where are the revenue figures?

Quote all the stats you want, tourism is a dead duck in many places and the Chinese do very little for Thais.

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

I disagree as these figures are manipulated and provided by TAT who are the only ones that measure arrivals and departures - therefore they are effectively meaningless.
