Re: Grab Coming to Hua Hin

I was just commenting on the attachment above showing prices, good to hear they're sensible now.

Either way Grab is a welcome development that may take some of the dominance away from Hua Hin's taxi mafia.

Re: Govt crackdown on Airbnb, declares bookings illegal

Short-term leasing in condominium: Getting it right Following the recent court rulings handed down to a condominium unit owner in Hua Hin, two of many questions arise: Why is it illegal to rent out condominium units on a short-term basis? Why has Thailand made condominium unit short-term leasing il...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

What does it prove? Where are they and where are the revenue figures?

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

I disagree as these figures are manipulated and provided by TAT who are the only ones that measure arrivals and departures - therefore they are effectively meaningless. Just walking around any tourist town with your eyes open, or talking to hoteliers, tour operators, and business owners that have be...

Re: Thailand tourist slump continues

Precisely.

I wonder if those that say they couldn't give a hoot about tourism would still live in Hua Hin if there were no restaurants, cafes, bars, golf courses, shopping malls, activities, etc, and it was essentially a little nondescript Thai village like Thap Sakae or Tha Yang.

More figures plucked out of thin air on a non-official website, what is the source of these magic numbers I wonder ... hmmm TAT by any chance

I'd love to see accurate numbers for revenue which is what actually counts at the end of the day.

Thailand wearies of junta rule, election promise still vague Four years after seizing power, Thailand's junta has a singular success it never hoped for: uniting a politically divided nation in growing dissatisfaction with the thin-skinned rule of the generals.
