Right, Expedia are just a booking agent that takes commissions, similar to Airbnb. They have no authority over the authorities in this country.

The boxed wine in Thailand is overpriced fruit juice.

You can get reasonable bottled wines in Villa Market, 2 litre bottles from 500-800 baht. My favourite is the Italian Rosso at 599.

Not sure if this is possible but I just used a dual SIM phone with both Thai and UK SIMS in it when I needed the Thai one in the UK.

Be aware though that AIS roaming charges are astronomical - you will need to top up with thousands before you go.
