Re: Biking tips

GN,

Let me know when you are out for a ride. I have a heavy old 250 cafe racer so prefer a slower pace.

Re: Land Ownership In Thailand

I think that's sensible advice from HoM. Rent for a year and look around to see the area and property you like. The rents are still very cheap and possibly a better short term option for a Retiree anyway (if you don't want to lease or risk putting the Title in your Thai wife's name). There are plent...

Re: Somtawin Pupil Behaviour Standards

School discipline was raised (in Thai) at the end of the last Somtawin partent/teacher meeting. The school's director responded rather hotly (in Thai) that the school was not run like a strict Thai school. We and several other parents that we know, will be removing our kids at the earliest opportuni...

Golfing Partners - Beginners to Intermediate

Hi all,

I'm living in Hua Hin and just taken up golf (again). If there are any biginner/ intermediate players that need a golf partner, I'd love to play 3-4 times per week. There are some great deals at the courses at the moment for low season.

PM me if interested.

Gents (and ladies)

I play down at Tavimook some mornings. I'm not at all good and it would be great to get to know some new players.

Re: Hua Hin Floating Market partner dead in suspicious accid

I was at the grand openingwith my wife last month and they (the owners) seemed in high spirits - very sad. This does nothing for HH's reputation.

Re: Changing UK Sterling at BHK Airport - Pros & Cons

7th floor kiosk at MBK centre used to give a pretty decent rate (comparatively). Mind you that was back when you used to get 79 bath to the pound. Imagine that!

Anyway the rates are much the same every where else.

Re: Hua Hin Golf Gossip

Hi PJG,

Correct. The same MG Yao.

It was very sad for his family, since they just took him home from BKK on Wendsday night. He was obviously very well like by Thais and forigners from all backrounds, and will surely be missed.

Re: History Challenge

standing on the shoulders of giants. The work was all done by the others posters.

The give away was that Thai's love them.
Ask a European what car they would like - they will say Porche or Ferrari.
Ask a Thai and it will be a CRV or mercedes (sorry to generalise).

Cheers
