Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

Nope, it's just for cash withdrawals. Both Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank ATM cards can be used as debit cards, but they have to be activated by the Banks on request. Well my account is with Krungsri... When I opened my bank account there were no less than 4 different types of ATM or ATM & Debit cards t...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

I'm not referring to the "debit/credit card" option, as I don't have one (just an ATM card). If you look further east on the payment options row, there's an option that says something like "Online/ATM Services"; this is the one that allows you to make a payment via online banking. Some retailers con...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

I've tried several times - just can't do it. Kasikorn tell me I have the wrong kind of account :? Not to worry, I've managed 6 years without one. Indeed. I just notices when selecting "Online Payment" when making a Lazada order today, that there is no Kasikorn option in the drop-down list. Maybe ti...

Re: Online Ordering - a sign of the times?

We've discussed Paypal several times - I can't open an account from Thailand. Warning bells are sounded when my bank is in the UK and I am in Thailand. Trying to use a Thai bank account for anything useful as a Farang just doesn't happen. I've never had any problems paying for anything with Lazada ...

Re: More demolition in Hua Hin - Chomsin road

Railway crossing/Chomsin Road? I tend to use this map when I'm not sure of a road name, and the railway doesn't go near Chomsin Road. (no idea if it's you or the map that's wrong). The railway directly intercepts Chomsin Road. If you go from the Soi 88 roundabout, pass the trainstation roundabout, ...

Sauber to race with Alfa Romeo branding next year They're be using 2018-spec Ferrari engines, as opposed to the year-old engines they used this year, plus with a big cash injection from the Alfa Romeo branding, we should expect them to make a big push into the mid-feild next year. Torro Rosso will ...

Re: Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency thread

Another Coinbase rant.... I strongly suggest that people find alternative locations to keep their coins; It took 6 hours on Wednesday morning for them to process my request for sending coin to another address, which was due to a backlog of transactions. The website was reporting "degraded performanc...

Re: Kasikorn Debit Card

I seem to remember being told that if you want to use the card abroad then you have to use either the first four or the last four digits of the pin. Probably best to check when you renew. As for other Thai ATMs; my 6-digit Krungsri card works in every ATM I've tried so far so I wouldn't worry about ...

I've also had it both the sweet & milky, plus the oily and spicy variety - and also spicy and milky; but never once was it anywhere near the heat levels that you can expect from most other Thai foods.

Re: Chang Party at Market Village

Indeed; went there a couple of days ago and the music was way too loud. It clearly wasn't putting anybody else off, as the place was full - we couldn't even get a table. The Christmas theme has started very early this year; I think BluPort had their tree up in the first week of November, and the peo...

Re: Drivers License Dec. 7 2016

I have to change my Thai driving license from a 1 year to a 5 year soon. Looking at the above posts: Do I need to first obtain some sort of medical certificate as mentioned above? Yes you need a medical certificate if moving from a 1 or 2 year license to a 5 year. You don't need it when renewing a ...

Re: Bitcoin mining and cryptocurrency thread

Just checked out both Kraken and BitFinex; neither offer trading in GBP - annoyingly you don't find this out until after you sign up :banghead: Hi Pleng, You are correct with BitFinex. That said I have to call bullshit on Kraken. I saw those too, until I logged in at which point they promptly disap...
