Re: Replacement remote for old, no-name air con

Oh! It's a night market. Decided to Google it. Glad I didn't trek out there in the mid-day sun. LOL!

Okay, I think I found it on Google Earth: Pae Mai Market? About 1km walk from Petchkasem Rd via Soi 70, if there aren't moto-sai taxis there?

Re: Retirement extension 800k - Where?

For the conversion of a visa-exempt entry or a Tourist Visa to the special Non-Immigrant O visa, can the transaction be done in the local Hua Hin Immigrations office, or must you go to Bangkok to do it at Chaeng Wattana? If you must do it in Bangkok, it takes two visits to Bangkok two weeks apart. I...

Re: Govt plans Pattaya - Hua Hin/Cha-am ferry link

Any mention of where the terminals will be on each side?

One of the earlier proposals started with Pranburi then moved to an unknown (to me) location about a 40-minute ride north of central HH.

Re: Replacement remote for old, no-name air con

Per Mai Market - the Tuesday market on the Klong Road carries a huge selection of second hand remotes. Very good, very cheap. Oh, good timing -- tomorrow's Tuesday! I'm not familiar with Klong Road. That's the road where Immigrations used to be, isn't it? What intersection/cross street would the Pe...

Replacement remote for old, no-name air con

I am in the process of selling a condo in Pattaya and of course one of the air con remotes decides now would be a good time to stop working. I went to the local Amorn store (basement of TukCom) and they did not have it in their somewhat large selection of remotes. I had it "fixed" at Amorn...

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin

While I've not been the recipient of any severe mistreatment from the Bell Travel folks, I have noticed a decline in their attitude over the years. I'm a frequent traveler between Hua Hin and the Airport. At least every six weeks, and often much more frequently. I've sat at the airport waiting for m...

Re: Hua Hin Blu Port Mall in the pipelines

Is this okay? http://www.bluporthuahin.com/ Good heavens. I hope they get a new webmaster. That site is almost childish. What's with all the crudely implemented needless animation? Not to mention the English: "The Seaside village that disguise to a small shop with various mix product." :s...

I think it looks like something from a post-apocalyptic movie. Ugly. (Hey, mods: we need a vomit smilie.)

Re: Tesco Chaos

What he or she is not responsible for are the delivery times of goods. Over the years stores have reduced goods storage to basically zero. When goods arrive that must be placed on store shelves. That may be what I just experienced at Villa Market this evening. There were zero shopping carts availab...

I've used the place two doors down from the tessabahn on Petchkasem Road -- same side of street, just two doors south. Quality was good.

Re: Water question

The other big advantage of an underground tank is that obviously by being low down, it'll fill up when the pressure is too low to do anything else. Yes, indeed. I live on Soi 80 which has notoriously low water pressure (and scarce hours of actual supply.) A neighbor up the street had a tall, skinny...
