Re: Thai women second fattest in Asia

Surprises me a bit actually - Malaysia has always had a problem, so no surprise there at being No.1, but China certainly has an issue and you could see the impact that the influx of Fast Food (McD's, Pizza Hut etc) in early 2000's and also the country's huge growth had regarding this issue. How abou...

I've had a look on the Net and followed a couple of suggestions there, unfortunately all to no avail. Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ...

Re: The Rugby Thread

I've not really been keeping up with the Rugby League World Cup, for fear of unwittingly catching Wales "playing" or seeing a result such as the 50-6 drubbing handed out by Papua New Guinea earlier in the Pool stages.... However, whilst waiting for the Scotland vs Samoa (Union) match yesterda...

I might just change supermarkets and help out the LHG by doing the weekly grocery shop (although the 450 odd mile round-trip may prove an obstacle  )!! :thumb:  Shoppers Can Now Buy Pints From a Bar Inside Morrisons "You can now buy a pint while doing your weekly shop at the branch in Gu...

Re: The Rugby Thread

With the scheduling and broadcasting of the (Home Nation) games, I got to see Scotland vs Samoa, Wales vs Australia and the highlights (or "low-lights" ) of England vs Argentina. Unfortunately I didn't get to see any of the Ireland vs SA game, which judging by the fantastic result for Ireland would ...

Re: Back in the UK after 14 years

Vital Spark, you could start your own thread, where you describe all the things you must and will do before the move and then how life goes on after your move. Will be interesting to follow. Maybe I should have done that a decade ago, too. Spot on idea - I'm sure there'll be a few interesting tales...

Re: Set top box to play media files on my TV (not streaming)

When I was living in China, I had a (Western Digital) "WDTV Live" unit which I used much as you intend (although there is also a streaming function). From memory, the unit cost me around US$120. Very neat (approx. 150 mm x 150 mm x 50 mm), remote control & played 99% of the files I had - up to 1080 ...
