Re: Farang Contempt for Thais?

It's a darn sight easier now just to call them on their phones. VS Well yes, but at least they have a respectful response rather than complete ignorance. I'm not too sure today's generation would even appreciate a nicely written, polite letter - or am I just being "negative"..... [EDIT] Can't think...

Re: Farang Contempt for Thais?

Its everywhere. Sadly, common decency has eroded away over the last 30 years. Sad but true - I honestly thought it was the arrogance that was China... unfortunately not. It is sad, and I'm with Nereus 100% on this one. :agree: 100% - I have been responsible for the hiring and firing of staff...

Re: TV series worth downloading

Have been watching the latest series of "Great Canal Journeys" with Timothy West and Prunella Scales. I know I've mentioned this one previously, but this is just a wonderful series for those who enjoy travel and have a sense of fun/romance/humour. It's on CH4 in the UK (see http://www.channel4.com/p...

NFL In London?

It's no doubt been proven over the years that one-off games certainly pull in the crowds - just look at a packed Wembley Stadium last year for the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts (as shown in the article). But a London based franchise? I simply can't see it working - take the London Monar...

Never fear, we've won a reprieve - woohoo! :thumb: "The so-called 'Christian numerologist' who alleged that the world would end on September 23 has clarified that the apocalypse has in fact been delayed. Speaking to the Washington Post, conspiracy theorist David Meade - who claimed that a mysterious...

A couple from Wimbledon...... "The All England Club's secretary Major David Mills was so concerned about the possible side-effects of excessive female passion at Wimbledon in 1974 that he wrote to the head teachers of 60 schools asking them to keep their girls under control. The previous year Bjorn ...

You screw with them and you are fair game...like everyone else. Couldn't have said it better, myself. Agree 100% :thumb: The same applies to a lot of places in most if not all countries let's be fair. Over the years on my visits to HH, I've been to Binta on many occasions, sometimes with the LHG (a...

Re: Melbourne woman drowns at Phuket beach after ignoring warning signs

Sad story but I'd always assume the colour red means danger. I'm sure the no swimming flags in the UK are red. Correct me if I'm wrong. Very much agree - a very sad story, but (forget the UK) surely anywhere in the world (aside from Australian beaches obviously) RED means DANGER . It's certainly th...
