Re: Premier League 2023-24

.......it’s a very complex situation that I openly admit to knowing precious little about the intricacies, but the way I see it, it’s a bit like a chef who has lots of ingredients and whose responsibility is to bring all the ingredients together and make something delicious.... An explanation that ...

Re: Premier League 2023-24

For as long as I can remember, every year, 1, 2, or 3 managers have been brought in, been allowed/encouraged to spend countless tens of millions on players, failed miserably and then been given a huge payoff for underperforming - you’d never get it in any other place than in top flight football - I...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Well, it'll be interesting today as Tesla announce their Quarterly Results. Things are already going somewhat pear-shaped with 10% job cuts announced, mass recalls, a 40% drop in share price.... More bad news expected.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

There could be a few hybrids that have a slightly longer range, but certainly the majority that I’ve looked at typically can only drive for a couple of miles before the engine kicks in - even the class leader Toyota Yaris can’t do very much more, if at all. Of course the plug-in hybrids have consid...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

In the UK I have a hybrid car - a Renault Captur and although it’s more economical than a straightforward car with just an ICE, it has a very limited range in EV only mode, typically 1-2 miles before the petrol engine kicks in and then out again as the battery recharges. It’s obviously a small cont...

This should be BYDs next offering in Thailand: BYD Yuan UP: Test drive experience in China https://carnewschina.com/2024/04/21/byd-yuan-up-test-drive-experience-in-china/ "The BYD Yuan UP is a well-balanced compact SUV suitable for daily urban driving. I was surprised by the comfort and how mu...

Re: Doctors warn of hot summer heatstrokes

Christ, I used to be able to take the heat - hell I lived through it for many years and also worked in it on site, not in aircon. These days, mid-high 20's is my perfect spot. Whether this being in the UK as a home base for too long, stints in cooler climates or now simply not working (or travelling...

And yes, we're back in 2024! :D
Always a bonus when we can remember what year we're in.
Mate, as far as Welsh Rugby is concerned, it's a year (or 4) to forget!! As to that overpriced, overpaid Wendy Round Ball sport you all adore....

Re: FA Cup 2025

Booooo, no fa cup romance today. Just a hammering from the better side. 😔 Ahem.... Now, I've watched Bath do Exeter, the Ospreys win in Africa and just seen 'Queens lose to Sale and Little Boy Smith teary eyed (all rugby) - seeing Manure go out would be a massive plus!! :thumb: And yes, we're back ...

They'll be happy in Isaan, my MIL used pull their wings of and eat them raw..... Growing up in Africa as a kid, the same applies to several insects - Locusts as a rule, but huge moths also. Gather around a streetlight, catch them, rip off their wings and eat them.... I do remember trying it, when I...

Re: 2024 F1 News and Prediction League

Well, with the "Silly-O-Clock" times for UK viewers, I missed the Sprint Race , where remarkably it seems LH came in 2nd - Remarkable, as in Qualifying he just didn't seem to have the right set-up at all. Perhaps he and Mercedes made changes when they didn't need to be made? Red BS and Cra...
