Re: [ADVERTORIAL] AA Insurance
The thing that puts me off is the reference to a 2,000 US$ excess for every illness/accident Healthcare International has several different plans. The Emergency Plan (described above) does indeed know a standard excess, hence the low premiums. At other Plans it is optional so without any excess is ...

Hi Mat Out of interest, what is the Hua Hin International Expat Club? I've looked online but can't seem to find anything. I'll be coming to see you sometime soon anyway, but if I can benefit from club membership then I'd like to look into it. I'll also be bringing one, maybe two other guys with me ...

Re: Medical Insurance in Thailand or anywhere for that matter
Health Insurance is and will always be a much-discussed subject. After all, a good Insurance Plan comes with costs – especially at higher ages - and not everybody is willing or able to pay this. I am an insurance broker but still I say there is nothing wrong with self-insurance, at least if you made...

A decent First Class insurance at a good company for a new PCX is around 4,500 baht a year. This will not only cover the Third Party bodily Injury/death and property damage, but also our own PCX for fire/theft and own damage and includes Bail Bond coverage. Available at AA Insurance Brokers Co.,Ltd ...

Re: Car Insurance
It is always the car that is insured. However, it is possible to have (max 2) named drivers on the policy to reduce the premium. Even in that case if a third person is driving the car and has an accident at fault, the insurance will still be valid but there will be a deductible of 6000 baht. If no n...

Re: Auto insurance in Thailand ... a waste of time
Even when in Thai language, the lay out of a policy is the same at every company. In the middle of the page you see 3 columns. The column on the left shows the third party coverage. It shows 3 amounts, the amount in the middle is always 10,000,000 baht. The amount above that shows the coverage for T...

Re: Do insurance policies include courtesy car while car off road?
Regretfully not one company will cover for a replacement car while your car is under repair. I know a few years ago one company started a a test in greater Bangkok for this, but they stopped after a while. And i can see why. For some reason it is still very hard to predict how long a repair will tak...

Re: Auto insurance in Thailand ... a waste of time
@Almirante: If you have a First Class insurance, no worries, the insurance company will pay for your damage regardless if the other party is insured or not. The company will try to get it back from the other party, but you will not have anything to do with that. @Billy Joe: Every insurance company i...

Re: Car Insurance
Yes this is correct. All insurance companies cover the car for 80 to 85 % of the new price in the first year. In Thailand there is no system like we know from Europe where you will receive the full new price in case of a total loss during the entire first year. So if you bought the car for 1,300,000...

Re: Hua Hin crime rate?
As an insurance broker in the Hua Hin area: Hua Hin is very very safe now when it comes to burglaries. About 5 years ago we had burglaries at clients houses all the time (1 a week for sure), but in 2014 we had only 2 burglaries at a client of us in the entire year. And yes, we do have more then 2 cl...
