Re: Customs cost of international parcel

It all depends on how Customs classifies it, and you won't have much say in that other than send an invoice with it that clearly states what the product is and its value. When they call you and ask for payment you will then know how much it will cost. Good Luck.

Re: Health insurance required for all retirement visas?

I have an OA but since this health insurance mess has been implemented, after paying off immigration for the first year, I use a Visa Broker and have no problems renewing my annual visa with much less paperwork and requirements to provide to them plus eliminating the 1.5-hour trip to Immigration fro...

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates

On my last trip in September, I spotted the signs overhead and or on pillars saying PRIORITY. Just kept following them until opening appeared identifying as Priority. Its past the main ramp to Immigration.

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates

Hope none of you forget that if your 70 you can use Priority or Fast Track no matter how many you're traveling with. I usually have to walk a bit father before turning up the ramp to find the Priority opening. Look for the signs on the ceiling.

TOA has two products for this. 200-Flooring Plus (water soluble) and 113 Micro kill. Apply Micro kill first then two coats of Flooring Plus. Will last for up to two years before having to recoat when algae begin to reappear. TOA also has a Oil based coating for the same thing. There is another oil b...

Re: Flights to/from Thailand status, news, and updates

Don't forget old codgers (like me at 82) that if your 70 or older you can use Fast Track or "Priority" lines at Immigration. May have to walk a bit to find it but will breeze through quickly.

Re: Best Gas BBQ

We purchased one from someone up north in Korat or somewhere thereabouts. An American who used to design and build race cars had contracted with a Thai factory to make his ALL-Stainless-Steel unit that is completely welded together and solid. Received it in Hua Hin via post on a pallet. Wish I remem...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

I too was a bit surprised when I first read about this tire pollution stuff several months ago in an article in LA Times. A toxic element in rubber tires was found in the water of a stream running next to the road to Yosemite Park. Point is that it is the same for all car tires but only more so with...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread

Have you all noticed the latest about the effect of car tire rubber chemicals being much greater in Elect. cars (because of their weight) than in gas powered cars? In California their beginning to look closely at the effect of those chemicals as their getting into environment and washing into stream...

Re: SCB Bank Closing Days for May 2023

Wish I had seen this earlier. I showed up at bank this morning only to see notices on window. Can't do anything now until Monday and that will be a zoo after closing for 4 days. Frustrating as banks in US can only close for 2 days and must be open on the third day after closing.

Re: Solar power setup for your home in Thailand

Good article or rather ad from SCG Solar. Outlines their processes and gives realistic timelines and figures. Still 7-10 years estimated payback and averaging 800 thb per day savings and their system costs about 10% more than others because they offer after installation service for the units install...
