Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
Iran becomes first country to report a second wave of coronavirus. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/04/iran-faces-crisis-amid-record-number-of-daily-coronavirus-infections [/quote] What a complete load of nonsense that headline turned out to be. Cases went up for one day and journalists w...

Re: Grandmother, 70, 'comes back to life' moments before cremation
How funny... and scary! I wonder if that doctor is still allowed to pronounce people dead.
Imagine if the original doctor was at the funeral and didn't want to lose face, they may have just cremated her regardless!

Re: Good GP in Hua Hin area
I'd second Dr Sumet. He has natural English and always has good advice. He's not afraid to ask if you have any questions and if he doesn't know the answer, will read the latest research then and there.

Re: Private Teacher/Tutor
Hi there, I've been tutoring my 12 year old for the past 2 years. There aren't strict laws here with regards to private tutoring as long as it's small scale I would imagine. Though the end of next year seems very far away, I am in Hua Hin Mon-Thurs and teach in Bangkok Fri-Sun. You may want to send ...

Another San Paulo story
So my daughter developed a sudden skin rash and we decided to avoid the queues at Hua Hin hospital and avoid the prices at Bangkok hospital, and to get it quickly seen to at San Paulo. It should have been fairly straight forward - perhaps anti-histamine and calamine lotion but my wife was concerned ...

Re: Evening education for Thai adults.
Hi, my wife finished her education in Hua Hin. She went to a temple near the canal road. After that, she went to Klai Kang Wong (upper) school, where for 1 baht, they teach vocational education like cooking foreign cuisine, pattern cutting and mechanics and computer stuff.

Re: International mail opened by post office
Thanks for the replies. Actually, the sellotape says Laksi Mail Centre, Thailand Post. I think it's a first for me. Though, in the past I've had packages arrive with perhaps additional plastic wrapping. However, I figured the package had been damaged in transit.

International mail opened by post office
Has anyone else had their international mail opened by the post office? I couple of weeks ago, I received a small package of documents from the UK and it had been opened carefully at the edges and then resealed with post office sellotape. I don't think anything was missing. Has anyone else had that ...

Re: Abhisit charged with Murder
In 2010 the Red Shirt protesters occupied downtown Bangkok for months. Abhisit's government approved the use of live ammunition under limited conditions and deployed sharpshooters during the demonstrations. He has denied the charges against him. Of course it's doubtful that Mark Abhisit was directl...

Re: Teachers who can speak English
Somtawin School have an admissions test. As your son is already 15, an age where pupils will be in their 2nd year of IGCSE, it might prove too challenging. However, there's no harm trying. An alternative school would be Yamsaard School http://www.yamsaard.ac.th/EN/campus/hua%20hin/atmosphere.html Th...

Re: Thai Economic proposes 'Single' tax
I also received a tax reduction for being married with children, for a number of years while working in Thailand. However, if the idea is to increase taxes generally and then to sustain the tax reduction for families, I would feel sorry for the already cash strapped younger workers of whom the major...

Re: Thaksin to groom son as party MP
I am not a Thaksin loyalist, and I'm pretty sure his son stinks. However, it is far too easy for some to forget the misdemeanours of the Yellow Shirts. I'm quite sure that there aren't many countries who would accept the occupying of the countries main international airport and the ousting of 2 demo...
