Re: Poll: Would you be willing to donate to keep HHF online?
Yes, although I very rarely pop in to the forum, I’d be happy to donate to keep it going.

Re: Buying a new smart TV
One is in the new garden room we built for my young son to have friends over for sleepovers and to play together on their XBox series x and their Oculus headsets, which is linked via WiFi to the eero router network 30 meters away in the house, one in the sitting room and one in our sons bedroom, whe...

Re: Buying a new smart TV
We have 3 LG OLED 65 inch TV’s here in the UK. Originally we bought one for our son’s Xbox games but decided to get rid of the original LED TV’s when we saw how good the picture is on OLED’s. Got them all from Currys when the prices drop several hundred’s of pounds at Christmas over the last 2 years...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
My Kia has done almost 50k miles in 2.5 years and we’ll change it soon for another EV with a bigger battery than the 64Kwh battery it has now. It’s a Lithium-ion polymer battery which I have no doubt will easily go on until 150k miles maybe more. Even then it could be recycled as a power bank for a ...

Re: My Tripadvisor review for Alberto, new Italian restaurant
Looks great and we could walk there in 2 mins, we’re only down the road and what 404 said about the road is true. Quiet at night and easy to park. Italian food is our favourite out all European countries for food and Alberto menu look great. Wishing them all the best and hope they do well. We’ll def...

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
If they can sell them at a decent price in the US then they will have a huge market to sell them in.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
Rather than speculate, it’s better to wait for the facts to emerge, as I’m sure they will in good time!! Fair comment, but EV's were the first thing that went through my mind when I saw the report I must admit. On another note, I caught the tail end of a report on the BBC this morning, but can't fo...

Re: Foreign property lures are rejected
I can’t understand anyone building a house on land they don’t own in Thailand, using a 30 year lease. Easier to buy a beachfront condo.

Re: Electric Vehicles (EV) Thread
I looked at Phev’s from many manufacturers back here in the UK and decided that it wasn’t worth buying one for the extra few miles I’d be getting, so went the full EV route by buying a Kia Soul 68 KWH First Edition. We have an EVSE charge system at home, so get to charge up on cheap electric (5ppKwh...

Re: Foreign property lures are rejected
Personally I’m far happier owning property in Italy, at least I don’t have to jump through hoops to spend my money there.
The wife’s family own plenty in Thailand and now in the UK, that’s good enough for me.

Re: Electric Cars
Yes I should read back in the thread a bit, my bad. :( I’m lucky as regards to electric prices as I signed up for cheap overnight electric from OctopusEnergy back in May 21 when we got the car and my tariff is 5pp Kwh for 4 hours overnight, 13.75 pp Kwh day rate with 24pp day standing charge. That w...

Re: Electric Cars
We have had an EV for just over a year here in the UK. It’s a KIA SOUL EV First edition 68kwh and we’ve done 22,500 miles in it since new. Mostly local journeys with the odd 270 mile round trip to Heathrow. We have never charged at public chargers, as we have a 7Kwh charger system at home and we cha...

Re: When was your first visit to Hua Hin?
1998 (I think) when I actually visited and stayed with my wife in HH. She was scouting out businesses for her family and she said this is where she wanted to live. Back then it was like a frontier town, with no modern amenities to speak of. I flew back to UK for a while then came back to HH to live....

Re: Hua Hin property market at present
The inlaws have purchased 2 condos and 3 houses during the last 6 months in Hua Hin, all at fire sale prices.
All rented out to Thais. It’s a buyers market and plenty of properties to be had for a bargain price.
