When I went with my daughter a year ago, she only had to produce copies of her old passport, which was well out of date.

So that would mean she was in Thailand illegally with no visa, how did you get around that one?

Re: Indian spices

Another alternative is to go to an Indian restaurant for a meal and at the end ask where they buy their spices.

Re: Another San Paulo story

While there are some good articles about SP Hospital there are many more bad articles. I have two extremely bad experiences with SP. For minor things they may be ok bit not for anything serious.

Re: LG TV Sound problems

Turns out it was a software update that deleted a sound format. LG Bangkok sorted the problem by remote access. Homepro/Power Buy were not very helpful but LG were excellent.

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

Don't forget that once you receive your new UK passport you then need a letter from the UK Embassy in Bangkok requesting Thai immigration to transfer your visa. So you still end up going to Bangkok to collect the letter, unless Key Visa will obtain that letter for you. Last time I obtained a letter ...

Re: Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

All of these threads about road safety have one major thing in common, Thai and numerous foreigners who see no need to comply with the law. This not only applies to roads but most things in life in Thailand, people feel they can do anything they want. Yes there needs to be a competent police force, ...

Re: Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

So that means the UK police are also crap and ineffective as there have been numerous hit and runs including on pedestrian crossing in the UK recently. Don't always blame the police, the population have something to do with it.

I disagree, Thailand needs a police force capable of enforcing the law, and handing out penalties that won't just buy a bottle of whisky, but deter re-offenders.
No country can have a police officer at every crossing, so it cannot come down to police enforcement.

I said many are improved, I didn't say all, and all the roads will never be in an equal state. Anyone can pick somewhere things are not right. Look on the bright side, the roads are much better now.

Not on everything, if you buy from Lazada or e-bay etc there is no tax,
Isn't that exactly what they're trying to implement - a tax on online purchases?
My point was referring to RobCars post stating we already pay 7% VAT
