Re: Name calling in Thailand

For one thing my reference was not "name calling" it was group referencing, Expat & Farang are referencing a group of people NOT name calling. So this topic title is incorrect. I have no problem in being called a Farang when I am in a shop or similar as the person stating Farang does not know my nam...

Re: Biggest Benefit to Being Expat

Being an expat is not just about Thailand and the OP did not mention being an expat in Thailand. I have been an expat for 36 years and will never go back to live in the UK. My brother sums it up best as follows: I have been lucky enough to travel extensively, visit countless countries, stay in amazi...

For me, the biggest benefit is not living under the delusion I have any rights.
This is so true for an expat in many countries and we have to accept it.

I don't have the S&K but at 43 Baht it would be good value. The M&O was good.

Had Fray Bentos mince and onion pie (230 Baht) today with potatoes and peas, lovely when cooked just right. No need to bring from overseas they are available right here in HH, numerous places.

All religions are shit, all is about money, prestige, oppression.
I wouldn't agree with oppression but would say they are all about control of the people. But then again it could be seen as the same.

Certainly Buddhism in Thailand is a sham these days. To most Thais it is only about good luck.

In my opinion it would seem more of a deterrent aimed at local Asians, Cambodian, Viet, Laos, Myanmar. According to these articles it is an attempt to cut down on broke backpackers coming into the country. That would probably be mostly young western tourists. https://nypost.com/2017/07/20/thailand-...

I believe there is no Instrument Landing System at HH airport as such I doubt any credible international airline would consider landing here.

USUFRUCT... the only way to go.
I have Usufruct, this only gives you the right to reside in the house, it does NOT give you any ownership rights.

Re: Flight to Thailand bargains

I know someone who recently flew with Turkish Airlines in business class and was impressed both with the planes and the lounge in Turkey. No idea about cattle class though which most of us have to suffer. I could not agree less with this statement. I have flown business with Turkish and think it is...
