Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

Europtimiste, I'm sure everyone understands exactly what you mean, but the simple fact is that you're wrong. You can't use the fact that English isn't your native language, as the words and their meanings are virtually identical in French. This is not a matter of words games: occupation is not ident...

Re: Pros and Cons of Colonization

Were Belgium, France, etc. colonised by the Germans during WW2? I think not.

Re: Usual cheating at the till, Big C Hua Hin

I had to google it. It's an offensive (and unoriginal) analogy. Not offensive to me, but to those with intellectual disabilities. "Even if you win, you're still retarded."

Still, if you find it amusing...

Re: Usual cheating at the till, Big C Hua Hin

 I can sense an upcoming response of 'infamy, infamy, they've got it infamy' Didn't take long! Anyway, I have finished now. This thread has developed an interesting tangent. How many different ways can you say "I will no longer participate in this conversation"? Sanctimony does imply...

Re: Usual cheating at the till, Big C Hua Hin

Pathetic, more than 70 posts for 25 satang. Not entirely accurate, one or two were sanctimonious, quite a few were about the meaning of 'sanctimonious' (which of course does not mean hypocritical  ), a few were about nothing at all, and all of yours were the sort of negative crap we have come...

Re: Bangkok Post editor removed from role

Norseman, the fact that you are allowed to call Prayut a "moron", (which is a lie), would seem to show that there is some press freedom. Umesh Pandy has repeatedly shown a lot of anti-government bias in the Bangkok Post, with never any criticism of Pheu Thai. Perhaps the newspaper can now revert to...

Re: Locations that serve a "good" Amercian / English breakfast.

I wish I could find the sausages Coffee Club uses. Best I've had in Hua Hin. Have you asked them? Yes, they make their own. Much tastier than a Cumberland or any of the others I've found in Hua Hin. Remember, I'm American, British sausages don't work for me. What's the difference between US and UK ...

With that level of criminal profit, I'm surprised she's still working behind a till. You must be absolutely livid to be cheated out of 75 satang. 75! No excuse for such behaviour. :tsk:

Re: Vietnam Visa

As usual some ridiculous questions. You can ask an advise, a travel experience to forum members but for that kind of information nothing better than Google or the VN official visa site. Who was recently in VN ? My question is not answered on Google. Is it easy to change TH Bhat, or better take only...

Re: Pivotal moments in life.

Interesting thread, VS. Most of these pivotal moments were good - I may have left out some of the bad ones! The first pivotal moment was nothing to do with me, really, but it was the school I went to when I was 11. The next was spending my gap year in Bordeaux in '76. Then when that was over I decid...
