Of course it was a technical problem, the boat caught fire!! As for your argument that you've never seen a speedboat accident - are you seriously suggesting that because you haven't seen one, there can't have been many? Words fail me...

Now in the U.K, if you have been an ex pat you have to be beck for 6 months before you can access the NHS. This isn't cast in stone. Thanks all. It turns out that this was simply a filter with ballast to keep it submerged.
(I put it in Foo as it was completely unrelated to Thailand).

The verb 'lester' means to ballast, if that helps.

Can any of you technical chaps give me the English name for this part? It is in an instruction manual for a sodium hypochlorite generator for swimming pools. In French, it is a filtre lesteur.
