Re: TAKING THINGS BACK

Careful, VS - I think that, like many other things in LOS, what applies in one Tesco Lotus will not necessarily apply everywhere. We bought a duff TV in Pranburi, and although we were eventually able to negotiate an exchange, we had to jump through a number of hoops and make a fuss for a couple of w...

Re: History Challenge

It looks very old, is it some kind of Chinese weapon using gunpowder - like an early triple-barrelled musket? Though I can't see a trigger or ignition method.

EDIT: Is it intact, or is part of something?

Re: History Challenge

The Welsh Guards.

You can tell because they wear baggy boxer shorts for easy access to the sheep, and in cases of dire need, the goat mascot.

Re: And the Hits just keep on coming!

dtaai-maai - I would love to take part in JWs quiz, can you imagine an all female team winning? There'd be a few bruised male egos around that night! Alas, the quiz is normally held first week of the month and we don't arrive until after Songkran. Maybe Johhnie might postpone it due to the holiday....

Re: And the Hits just keep on coming!

Look on the bright side, bonnielass, there's all those sexy farang males hobbling around Bintabaht for you to prey on...

On a (semi-)serious note, I sincerely hope you'll all be making up a team for JW's April quiz!

Re: Immigration cracks down on hotels

I thought we'd already established that this 24 hour reporting business (which is completely unrealistic in all sorts of scenarios in any case) was a load of nonsense. I've never done it, and I don't know anyone else who's ever done it, nor do I know anyone who has had any problems as a result of no...

Acer Iconia B1 Tablet

Acer Iconia B1 Tablet http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Acer-Iconia-B1-A71-Tablet.87771.0.html Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm still getting around to buying an e-reader, but I (briefly) saw a colleague using the above bit of gear this morning and was quite impressed. They have a free...

Re: Great new restaurant & pub near Springfield & Lake View

I am a member at Lake View and a lot of us would really like something like this nearby but on the way back to Hua Hin. I know you say only 5 minutes but in my opinion probably 10 minutes or more and its just going in the wrong direction. I wish you well and will give it a try but the location is b...

Just? So it must be as Thailand became Thailand. In fact is that what's happening? The signing of whatever was needed to change from Siam to Thailand?

Re: FA Cup 2012 -2013

I'm sure Benitez is a manager many good clubs would be happy with, but it's equally clear that he never stood a chance at Chelsea. Just like Hodgson at Liverpool, you ain't gonna last long if you don't have the fans behind you. But Benitez has history against him as far as Chelsea are concerned, and...

Hmm, it must be royalty of some kind, and obviously not of the white European variety.
If Japan is closer geographically, how about the Sultan of Brunei?
