Top high schools 'enrolling too many students'

If I wasn't reading this I wouldn't believe it. Taking the article at face value you can be assured that many good students with great potential will be swept up into this vacuum cleaner and end up in welding class or circuit board assembly instead of physics. Do they even know how to recognize, dir...

Re: 50-year leases likely for foreigners

When you read reports like the below in conjunction with one another and realize the consequences, it makes good sense that someone needs to do some forward thinking and come up with innovative plans to continue to generate and grow revenue here from outside sources. We may see many more of these ne...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand

The Thai Meteorological Department has warned that variable weather conditions – with thunderstorms, gusty winds and hail – will be likely in the North, Northeast, Central and East from March 25 to 29. Outbreaks of erratic weather will also bring a decrease in temperature, the department said on Fri...

Re: 50-year leases likely for foreigners

It it comes to pass, they also need to amend visa and visa waiver policies to fit. If a person owns one of these properties and comes from a visa waiver country, he should be allowed unlimited entries via any mode/crossing and not be restricted by existing rules. In fact they should offer a special ...

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

Yes, it all makes sense. The "need to buckle" sensor is in the seat and activated by weight. The "is buckled" sensor is in the female part of the buckle apparatus. I think you accomplish the same result by cutting off the male buckle portion from an old belt and simply leaving it inserted. I've neve...

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

If you don't wear your harness belt in the front the buzzer, bell or some other obnoxious noise will drive you nuts! If I recall it only used to alarm for the driver seat. Now, both or our cars alarm for both front seats, but no alarm for the back rows. In daylight it's quite easy to see through the...

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

It's like everything else here. Responsible people have been insisting passengers all buckle up for a long time now. Others will simply ignore it, or won't even have read/heard about the new law. Enforcement will be hit and miss just like the no cell phone talking law that's been around for years bu...

Thanks for that Geko. I've been looking around as well and that's probably the route I'll take. :thumb: Also, more and more out now about the Apple IPhone "Edition" AKA IPhone 8. Available around the end of the year, bells and whistles to the moon and costs around USD1,000. Tagged as a designer phon...

They need to put a fountain or some kind of statue/pole/flower box thing in the middle to get everyone's attention, and the roundabout signs of course. Pete

Re: Smartphone thermometer

^ Yes, that's true. Samsung seems to have tried it but didn't follow through with it as a standard item on all models. Can only guess that perhaps customers didn't care that much, and/or the space taken by the internal sensor proved more valuable for something else. Pete
