Re: Hua Hin hotels push airport redevelopment

I guess we all have different needs. I like the idea of being able to have travel opportunities from Hua Hin rather than have to battle my way to and from Bangkok every time. That problem could be solved by a couple of reliable flights daily to the two Bangkok airports for onward bound connections,...

Re: Demolition of restaurants + shops in Poon Suk road

The advantage of these restaurants was that they were casual reasonably priced places right in the middle of where the tourists walk around at night. A lot of tourists don't venture out of that area between Phetkasem and the beach and Chomsin and Damnoern Kasem Rd. As an expat, I rarely frequented t...

Atheists More Intelligent Because They Can Override “Instinctive” Religious Beliefs—But It Will Be Their Downfall

This almost sounds like Darwin's theory of evolution in reverse! "Atheists tend to be more intelligent than religious people because they are able to rise above the natural instinct to believe in a god or gods, scientists have said. But according to Edward Dutton, from the Ulster Institute f...

Re: Security window Bars

^ I don't believe that to be the case. We lived in a standalone home that we built there for 7 years without incident, while several homes in the gated development adjacent to my property were burglarized, some more than once. Many burglaries in developments are actually perpetrated by staff or secu...

Re: Development, or lone wolf??

With the party houses now springing up all over Hua Hin I think it would be better to buy a large plot of land and build your house in the middle as far from neighbors as possible.

Over 30 posts, but nothing serious. We are still not informed. Such useful forum...... If you can't find the information that you want on this forum, why not go out on the street and do your own research? or develop a sense of humor. That's what I started to do. Or start a better forum of...

Re: Strange incident on the road last night

That scenario certainly sounds sinister to me, especially as the guy in question punched your truck when you didn't stop. As for helping people, like Oakdale, I would never do it in Thailand as a foreigner stands a reasonable chance of getting blamed for something he/she didn't do. Case in point; I ...
