Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

There are already Visa services and agents opening up in the shop houses near the new place! Also a small food court and small places to eat, one of which I'm told does an excellent full English.

Re: Hua Hin water supply disruptions?

When after 10 years we finally got mains water to our development, the wife wanted it plumbed straight into the house. I insisted it went into the underground tank with a ball cock then pumped into the house. She thought I was 'silly Ferang' saying the dam would never run dry. Now the neighbours hav...

Re: Surfcasting fishing in HH ?

I have wandered the beaches spinning many times over the years, never had a bite! I caught some pretty and colourful SMALL fish from the piers. The new harbour at Takieb looks fishy, so will be giving that a go when I'm back. I wish the sea fishing was better, might get a small boat when I finally r...

Re: Doors

If you go out of town on the Pala u Rd, past big C, up over the hill, past La Vallee, on the Right is a massive place that sells all sorts of doors. They also fit them, price depends on style etc.

Re: Wanted: Hua Hin prime location for coffee shop

Again it's difficult not to be negative, but the only business that has a faster turnaround than a bar is a coffee shop! The equipment is quite expensive, the competition fierce and the low season is very long. Have you considered a seasonal shop on a development, possibly Scandi? Then lock it up th...

I think you can hire from all main hospitals.....or buy from about B 5000 from main Pharmacies ( might be able to claim this back from your insurance)

Re: Do you ever feel not farang?

Been coming to HH for over 20 years and still feel much the same, it's my home now and the U.K now feels almost as foreign. I have tried to learn the language and we speak Tinglish in the house. I do nearly all the shopping at local markets and am totally accepted with lots of smiles and jokes. When...

Re: Getting employed. What is needed?

I'm not sure how old you are, but I wouldn't waste early 'earning years' on Thai wage! Better to make as much as you can in overseas contracting, working flat out, then taking breaks in Thailand where you can holiday cheaply. Eg working in Japan for 3-6 months, then having a month off in Thailand an...

Re: Would you drive a black car in Hua Hin?

If I remember my schoolboy science and it was a long time ago.....black absorbs heat more than white, but also radiates it out more! So in theory would heat up quicker but cool quicker! So I guess when driving and the air is cooling it a black car 'could' be cooler. There seem to be plenty of black ...
