Re: Anyone know if I need to have Thai driving licence to get car insurance ?

You don't need to retake your test....Just convert your UK DL to a Thai one. There's a thread on here if you do a search....can take less than 15 mins if you chose the right centre and time.

High tide happens twice a day (roughly) so ....beach cleaning twice a day, and all day on Wednesdays
Not in the Gulf of Thailand it doesn't........it's one of 2 places in the world that only has one tide a day!

Re: Songkran 2017

That's Great news! Hua Hin and Thailand has had a rough couple of years and for many people it was loosing its shine. I noticed a lot fewer bars open on both Binta and Soi 80 which might have kept things in check. Looks like the road deaths will be down but accidents up.

Re: Songkran 2017

Does it look like Hua Hin has got away without major problems last night, or are they being covered up?

Problems with AIS 2G today?

Hi folks, My 2G AIS service up here in Mon mai, seems to have suddenly stopped. My phone shows 4 bars but says emergency only. Has the service just been switched off....not heard anything about this for some time. I have credit, but could I have run out of time? I have been back in the UK for a coup...

Re: All car passengers now required to buckle up

I guess they have created a market for all those mini vans that are also being 'banned' from transporting people longer distances.

We all know none of this will ever happen!

Re: New Hua Hin Immigration and passport office

There are already Visa services and agents opening up in the shop houses near the new place! Also a small food court and small places to eat, one of which I'm told does an excellent full English.

Re: Hua Hin water supply disruptions?

When after 10 years we finally got mains water to our development, the wife wanted it plumbed straight into the house. I insisted it went into the underground tank with a ball cock then pumped into the house. She thought I was 'silly Ferang' saying the dam would never run dry. Now the neighbours hav...
