Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

Sorry to be pedantic, but like most of us we have got used to seeing the payment as a fine. The minimum true fine for no helmet is B500 and both passengers are required to be wearing one. Anything else is a bribe and needs to be seen as one.

Mrs N has just said there was an early morning announcement on the local loud speaker things that seem to have sprung up since my last visit, that the electric will be off tomorrow from 8-4.

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

Also from my experiences here in HH, most of the ‘real’ policing is done by plain clothes guys, of which there are a huge amount all around us at any time.

Re: Hua Hin's Finest (police in Hua Hin)

The only thing B.B. is that it’s not a fine, it’s a bribe! There is a clear rate you should pay for breaking the law, which was published during the last 100% helmet campaign. You should get a receipt or be taken to the station to pay this. The B200-400 that mostly Ferangs pay goes into various pock...

As B.B. says get there early as you are paying a supplement for the view, IMHO wasted when dark!

12 Victory seem to take notes some of the others turn their noses up at, such as those with writing and small nicks. A bit off topic but might be useful to someone!

I was also told this about a year ago when the German restaurant did not get its lease renewal or decided against it, I can't remember which.

"Thai women, especially those from the northeast region, are soft-spoken and submissive"

Re: Snakes in the house and garden

I had a homing kukri a few years ago.....every day or so we would catch it and take it further and further away, but it kept coming back! They don't like to be handled roughly and do a strange movement with their tail when upset! When I last saw it was very egg bound and looked like a string of saus...
