Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

Can someone remember a while back there was a video of monkeys jumping in the sea from a big rock, getting out and doing it over and over again? Was it at this temple or Monkey mountain? If it was this one perhaps that’s what is attracting so many to an inlet with not that much food.

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

About a month ago I was dangling my rod off the fishing pier in HH. It was flat calm and you could see several large schools of tuna/mackerel in the bay, towards where the navy used to have its ships. They never got close enough for us to catch them, but there is food for predators if only passing t...

Re: Shark Attack - Had Sai Noi

There is a better picture going around that IMHO shows a circular row of bites that is quite convincing. Looking at the size of the bite and comparing it to sharks I have caught in the past, it looks like around 4 ft long 50 ish kg. So we are not looking at Jaws. I have seen sharks while diving at K...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

Only slightly straying.....scooted down to Soi 80 for a couple of hours today and this was the most gentle and respectful Songkran I can remember. I haven’t missed one for around 25 years! Roads on the way into town were quiet and groups of people waved you down if you wanted to participate or left ...

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

I remember in previous years there was some discussion about how the figures were calculated. I believe only those dying at the scene of the accident were counted, not those that died of their injuries later, so the figure is many times higher.

Re: Opening a Thai bank account

If you look at other posts and threads on here you will realise the rules changed last year! All the people saying it’s easy are talking in the past. I was even offered a bank account over dinner when I sat near the bank manager from kassikorn when he was celebrating his birthday. He sent over some ...

I doubt it, as he was cutting back his clinics when dear old Richard was alive and that was around 3 years ago.

Re: Typical price of a large beer in HH bars?

You have to remember that Hua Hin is the Brighton of Thailand with prices to match. If you were to go “up north” to Isaan then you would find cheaper places to live, eat and drink.

Re: Help with garden lawn and making lawn sprinkler installation

Been thinking of putting in a tall hedge in place of a falling down fence and would need sprinklers. I looked on Lazada and they seem to have everything you need, both the cheaper plastic bits and more expensive brass, plus the timers etc.

Thanks folks for your advice......I’ll go with the refusal route. I’ll post if it works out OK. Can this be done at Blueport?
