Re: Another San Paulo story

By far the best (based on my family's experience), but a bit far is Petcharat.
Agree 100%. Such a shame they closed down their clinic in HH after the Bangkok Hospital opened.

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

Seems I've confused some people.

She's Thai/English and therefore has two passports.

Also, doesn't matter that a passport is out of date, it's still 'renewable'.

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

When I went with my daughter a year ago, she only had to produce copies of her old passport, which was well out of date. My last renewal was by post to Hong Kong and copies were accepted. The official reason was that because Thailand has a requirement to produce your original passport, the necessity...

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

The Visa Agency accepts copies and as KeyVisa deals with them I'm sure a copy will do. The British Passport Office accepts a copy from Thailand because of the laws here whereas you have to be able to produce your passport when required.

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

They seem to have built up a reputation which is underlined by the acceptance of the visa agency (Trendy Building). I think that if there was anything untoward it would have been spotted by now.

Re: Santorini Park

My daughter used to go there regularly when she was younger. Appeared at the time that it catered for school kids rather than 'grown ups'. But then again some of us haven't grown up yet!! I'm in my second (or third) childhood!

My speedo and gps are also in agreement. Just that I noticed when driving by that the sign said the limit was 90 and I was doing 110. My gps said 95! (okay I was still over by a smidgin)

Re: How can Thailand curb its appalling road fatality rate?

Yeh, these speed warnings are appearing all over Thailand. I would doubt their accuracy as going past one on the way to Tha Yang, it had my speed more than 10kms over my actual speed!

Well, HHinner, it appears you are wrong about this one. Lots of people, as you can see, are using KeyVisa quite successfully.

Re: British Passport renewal company in Hua Hin?

So how does KeyVisa do it. I've read many times of people using their services without having to visit BKK. Of course there is a fee but you save two trips to BKK and the hassle involved.

These people are not officials, just security from Bluport and have no authority. Try arguing with the police having gone through a red light using the excuse "But I was waved on".

Re: Addition to existing house

Similar to planning permission back home. The Tessabahn will require plans and if approved will give you a building permit. The completed build is then inspected by the Tessabahn.

Of course this is Thailand and many people just go ahead regardless.

Re: Hua Hin's most dangerous pedestrian crossing

I agree that it's not possible to have police at every crossing, traffic lights etc, but the police in the UK (for example) are a deterrent which is not the case in Thailand.
