Re: Thailand to England move

I understand that VS is looking for someone to 'take over' the rent. I gather rent is paid to a landlord so it wouldn't be in their interest to leave furniture for the profit/benefit of the landlord.

Re: Charging for plastic bags in Thailand?

There are 'bottle bins' and separated bins dotted around. I'm told that the Thais do use them properly. Maybe not enough of them though.

The named beaches are only during the initial 'campaign'. From February 1st ALL beaches come under the law. Or so it was stated!

Recycling truck? Didn't know of it's existence. Tell me more. I have old fans, TV's and computers etc and have always wondered where to get rid.

Re: Charging for plastic bags in Thailand?

The present PM recently said they could not implement laws restricting the use of plastic bags as the people would not like it.
What a stupid comment by the PM. There's a very long list of laws that 'the people don't like'. Should they be repealed?

Re: Japan To Help Improve Road Safety Across The Kingdom

Nobody can help the carnage here until the Thais help themselves.
A large dose of common sense and a police force that works!

Re: British Community’s Annual Ploenchit Fair

It has never been the same since they stopped holding it in the grounds of the British Embassy, where the name comes from. A day out there would just about guarantee that you would run in to someone that you had not seen since the last one. :( Since they sold massive lumps to Central, they probably...

I had a similar request from my pension trustees a year or more ago, same reason given. I completely ignored it and I've never heard anything since.

I've been in and out of the country several times with my kids without their mother and never had a problem. Must have an honest face!

Re: Hammock for a hefty porker

I'm around the same weight (105 kilos) which I'm not proud of. However these 'colourful stringy things' hold me okay. The fixings have to be good though.
There's a shop on the railway road on the left (the railway side) a little before the 'crazy roundabout' that sells them in all colours.

Re: Children travelling - mixed nationality

Like most with two passports. Arrives and leaves Thailand on a Thai passport and enters and leaves the UK on a British passport.
There is no visa involved. When in Thailand the child is Thai and when in the UK, the child is British.

Re: Legality of email correspondence

paid something like 350,000 Baht to the lawyers for there services in drawing up the legal contract I don't believe that for a minute. A few years ago, I went through a messy divorce which required several hearings in court. Land, house and children had to be sorted out by the court. My bill (inclu...

Re: Legality of email correspondence

This is just for anyone's information. It should be said that lawyers are not infallible. My high priced lawyer from BKK certainly made some mistakes on points of law in a court case a few years ago. However: Thailand has established an excellent framework enabling the use of electronic documents fo...

Re: Legality of email correspondence

I think you will find that a contract can be made orally (no signed contract but still legally binding), in writing or via electronic means.
In recent times emails have been accepted by courts more and more.
